이 논문은 이해인의 시에 나타난 시간의 영성적 의미를 구명한 것이다. 가톨릭교회에서 영성은 ‘초월적 존재에 대한 인간의 응답’이나 ‘인간 행위를 유발하는 그 어떤 태도나 정신’이라고 정의할 수 있다. 이해인의 텍스트에서 화자는 시간을 절대자가 주는 빛나는 선물로 인지한다. 그렇기 때문에 시간은 보물과 같은 것이다. 새벽이나 아침은 절대자의 목소리를 듣는 시간, 어둠을 몰아내고 희망과 만나는 시간, 기도의 시간, 자신을 성찰하는 시간 등으로 형상화된다. 밤은 절대고독의 시간으로, 타자의 고통에 대해 각성하는 시간이며 사랑을 회복하는 영성적 시간이다. 해질녘은 소멸과 침잠을 통한 깨달음의 시간, 자유로운 평화를 획득할 수 있는 시간, 무욕의 시간, 살아 있음을 느낄 수 있는 시간, 사랑의 손을 내미는 시간 등으로 형상화 된다. 봄은 화자가 절대자의 축복을 받는 시간이다. 여름이 영성적 시간인 이유는 이타적 시간이기 때문이다. 가을은 절대자의 사랑을 인식하고 용서를 실현하는 영성적 시간이다. 겨울은 잘못을 참회하고 새로워질 것을 다짐하는 영성적 시간이다. 마지막으로 새해는 절대자의 나라를 갈망하며, 절대자의 뜻에 합당하도록 살아갈 것을 다짐하는 영성적 시간이다.

This paper researches the spiritual meaning of time as it appears in Lee Hae-in's poem. Spirituality in the Catholic Church can be defined as 'human response to a transcendental being' or 'any attitude or spirit that causes human action' In Lee Hae-in's text, the speaker recognizes the time as a shining gift from the absolute. This is why the time is like a treasure. Dawn or morning is shaped like a time to hear the voice of the absolute, to drive out the darkness and meet hope, to pray, to reflect on yourself. Night is a time of absolute solitude, and a spiritual time to realize the other's pain and to recover love. Sunset is shaped a time of enlightenment through death and contemplation, a time of getting peace of freedom, a time of abandonment the avarice, a time of feeling alive, a time of giving love. The New Year is a time of longing for the absolute’s country. Spring is a time when the speaker is blessed with the absolute's blessings. The reason summer is a spiritual time is as it is altruistic. Autumn is a spiritual time to recognize the love of the absolute and realize forgiveness. Winter is a spiritual time to repent of own wrongdoing and vow to be renewed.
