추체험은 딜타이에 의해 정신과학적 이해로서 정립된 이후 오랫동안 많은 주목을 받아온 개념이다. 정신과학에서 추체험은 일면 현재에도 여전히 사용되고 있는 개념이면서, 동시에 타면 이미 폐기된 개념이기도 하다. 즉, 추체험은 양면성을 갖는다. 그러나 이러한 이중성보다 흥미로운 점은, 정작 이개념이 양 진영 어디에서도 세밀하게 논의된 바가 거의 없다는 사실이다. 한마디로, 추체험은 정신과학에서 가지는 위상에 비해 너무나도 무반성적으로 사용되어왔고, 사용하고 있는 개념인 것이다. 이에 따라 이 개념에 대한 오해도 적지 않게 축적된 바 있다. 본고는 딜타이의 정신과학론 전반을 아울러 살펴봄으로써 추체험이란 과연 무엇인지에 대해서 밝혔다. 그것은 체험-표현-이해의 연관과 이 연관을 지탱해주는 객관 정신을 토대로 개진되었다. 그런 다음, 추체험에 대한 비판적 고찰을 진행했다. 본 논의가 딜타이의 추체험 및 정신과학론에 대한 연구에 있어서 작은 보탬이 되기를 소망한다.

Nacherleben' has received a lot of attention since it was established by W. Dilthey as a 'geisteswissenschaftlicher Verstehen'. 'Nacherleben' is a concept that is still used, however it is also a concept that has been abandoned in 'Geisteswissenschaften'. This concept is ambivalent. What is interesting is that it has not been discussed in detail anywhere. 'Nacherleben' has not been discussed seriously in comparison to its status in ‘Geisteswissenschaften.’ Therefore, there has been a lot of misunderstanding piled up around it. By looking through the Dilthey's works, the study seeks to reveal what the 'Nacherleben' is. This is done mainly through the 'Zusammenhang von Erleben, Ausdruck und Verstehen' and 'objektiver Geist'. Furthermore, the study also critically discusses the 'Nacherleben'. I hope this attempt will help us study Dilthey's 'Nacherleben' and 'Geisteswissenschaften’
