이 연구는 Dimitrijevic 등(2017)이 개발한 정신화 척도(The Mentalization Scale: Ments)를 한국어로 번안하여 타당화하는 목적에서 수행되었다. 전체 358명의 자료가 수집되었고 수집된 자료를 무선으로 두집단으로 나누어 첫 집단 160명은 탐색적 요인분석 자료로, 다른 집단 190명은 확인적 요인분석검증 자료로 사용하였다. 탐색적 요인분석에서 한국판 정신화 척도는 원 척도와 동일하게 3요인 모델로 나타났고, 확인적 요인분석에서 3개 문항을 제거한 총 25문항의 3요인 모델이 적합한 것으로 나타났다. 전체 문항의 내적 일치도는 .88로 나타났으며, 하위 요인의 내적 일치도는 .74 - .84로 원척도에 비해 다소 높거나 비슷하였다. 준거 타당도 검증에서 정신화 척도는 공감, 마음챙김, 정서자각, 삶의 만족도, 애착과 유의미한 정적 상관이 나타났고, 경계선 성격특성, 우울, 불안과 유의미한 부적 상관이 나타났다. 일련의 검증을 통하여, 한국판 Ments를 타당화하였다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 의의와 한계를 논의하였다.

The purpose of this study was to verify the reliability and validity of Dimitrijevic et al.(2017) developed The Mentalization Scale(Ments) for Korean. A total of 358 data were collected and the data was randomly divided into two groups. The data were used as follows; the first group (N=160) as exploratory factor analysis data and the other group(N=190) as confirmatory factor analysis. Three factors were extracted the same three-factor model as the original scale through the EFA, and the 3-factor model of the total 25 items without the three items was appropriate in the CFA. The internal consistency of the total items was .88 and the sub-factors was .74-.84, which was little higher or similar than the original scale. The criterion validities were verified, Ments was positively related with empathy, mindfulness, affection awareness, satisfaction of life, and attachment. And Ments was negatively related borderline personality, depression, and anxiety. The Korean version of Ments were verified through the EFA, CFA, and criterion validities. The implications and limitations of this study were discussed.
