Globalization expands its spheres of influence into the educational field by establishing international schools. Korean government is hesitant to accept the educational globalization except international schools, the Jeju educational city in particular. International schools adopt international curriculum over national one which is cosmopolitan, versatile to international standard, and English medium which is considered competitive. But criticized are the transnational, westernized education and the socially reproductive nature for higher class. International schools at Jeju are under the critiques, but they have Korean and Korean Society classes, and adopt Korean stance on certain global issues. To be firmly rooted in locale, real cosmopolitan education including intercultural understanding, and practical activities together with local schools and students would strengthen the international curriculum and the global capacity of local schools and institutions.
