본 연구의 목적은 국내 기관의 선교TESOL 과정의 교육과정을 살펴보고 향후 교육과정을 개발해 보는 데 있다. 이를 위해 국내 선교TESOL 과정을 운영했던 곳의 개요내용을 살펴보고, 선행연구 등을 참조하여 선교TESOL 과정의 교육과정, 기간, 수료요건 등을 제안해 본다. 조사 결과 국내에서 선교TESOL을 진행했던 곳은 몇 기관이 함께 연합하여 운영하는 평생교육원 한 곳이 거의 유일하다. 이 평생교육원 과정은 8주간의 일반 영어교육 내용과 4주간의 선교와 관련된 영어내용으로 이루어져 있다. 일반 TESOL과정의 선행연구 등을 함께 참조하여 선교TESOL 과정을 위한 제안점을 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 선교TESOL은 학과보다는 학부 내 트랙제라든가 평생교육원의 과정으로 진행할 수 있다. 둘째, 교과목은 일반 영어교육의 과목들에 더하여 영어주일학교, 영어성경지도, 영어찬양, 어린이영어 등과 같이 교회나 기독교기관의 환경에 적합한 특화된 것들이 필요하다. 셋째, 과목 내용은 이론뿐 아니라 실제 교수기술을 다루며 교회 및 기관과의 참관 및 실습이 필요하다. 수료증은 출석 및 일정점수를 획득한 이들에게만 발급하여 과정의 질을 높여야 할 것이다.

This study has aimed to analyze the Christian TESOL curriculum and suggests a curriculum of Christian TESOL based on the analysis of Christian TESOL and TESOL programs. There was only one Christian TESOL in a lifelong education center. It was composed of a 12 week-program including a 8 week- program about how to teach English and a 4 week-program about the Christian English education. Based on the result about Christian TESOL and existing studies on TESOL programs, several things are suggested. First, Christian TESOL could be implemented as one track in universities or in lifelong education centers. Second, the subjects should include not only the basic subjects on English education but also special subjects which are fit for the Christian English education such as English Sunday school, English Bible, English praise, and English for children. The contents should be more focused on the teaching techniques rather than the theory since the learners would want to use them on site. Finally, only those who receive a certain and above score should get the certificate so that the certificate can have more reliability.
