본 연구의 목적은 영어·수학 기초학습능력 향상프로그램이 학습자들의 학업성취도와 자아효능감 및 학습에 대한 만족도와 인식에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 알아보는 것이다. 3주 기간의 영어·수학 기초학습능력 향상프로그램에 2017년 신학기가 시작되기 전 실시한 영어·수학 진단평가에서 낮은 점수를 받은 84명의 학생들이 참여하였다. 학업성취도에 있어서 차이가 있는지 알아보기 위해 진단평가와 총괄평가 간의 차이가 분석되었으며, 각각의 과목에서의 평균이 향상되었다. 이 프로그램이 학습자의 자기효능감에 미치는 영향을 연구하기 위해 3가지 요인-과제수준, 자기조절, 그리고 자신감을 조사하였고 t-검증으로 분석하였다. 그 결과 과제수준과 자기조절에서는 통계적으로 매우 유의미한 차이가 있었지만 자신감에서는 유의미한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 또한, 영어·수학 기초학습능력 향상프로그램의 참여가 학습자들의 학습동기를 유지시키고 학업에 대한 긍정적인 인식을 갖게 하는데 많은 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구를 토대로 후속 연구에서 보완하고 고려할 점들을 제시하고 있다.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of basic English and math ability improvement program on academic achievement, learners’ self-efficacy, and satisfaction and perceptions. The participants of this 3-week program were 84 college students who got low scores in pre-assessment in English and math before school year in 2017. To examine the difference in scholastic achievement, the mean difference between pre-assessment and summative assessment were analysed and the mean in each subject was improved. To study the effect of this program on learners’ self-efficacy, 3 factors- task level, self regulation and self-confidence were surveyed and analyzed by t-test. The results showed that there were statistically very significant differences in task level and self-regulation, but not in self-confidence. As for learners’ satisfaction and perception, the attendance in basic English and math ability improvement program had effects on consistent learners’ motivation and positive perception for learning. Pedagogical implications for future research are discussed.
