This study has been carried out to find out how Korean university students who study Chinese language usually think of Chinese modal particle and how they understand it in an actual sense. The Chinese modal particle is one of the grammar items that are difficult for Chinese learners to pick up due to the variety of its function and use, and hard to understand the degree of how much it is understood. Thus, in this study, we made a questionnaire to find out the students' perception of Chinese modal particle. And then we performed a test related to the Chinese modal particle, and examined the relationship between the perception and the comprehension of the Chinese modal particle, suggesting some points to be noted in the future education of the Chinese modal particle.
