이 논문은 지급결제서비스의 가격결정에 관한 이론적 논의를 정리하고 실제 적용시의 필요한 논점들을 정리한 것이다. 현재 지급결제서비스의 가격결정이 이론적 근거를 가지고 있지 못하고 실무적으로 결정되고 있다. 이로 인해 금융기관의 이윤극대화에도 흠결이 있고, 사회적 후생을 최적화하지도 못하고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구를 통하여 이러한 현실을 극복하고 지급결제서비스의 가격결정의 합리화에 일조하고자 한다.

This paper discusses the theoretical background of pricing the payment service, and some issues related with applying the pricing mechanism. The current pricing mechanism in practice does not consider the price elasticity of the demand for the payment service and the risks in providing the service. The paper argues that the pricing mechanism should change in order to maximize the social welfare as well as the profits of the financial institutes.
