본 연구의 목적은 개인심리학 이론에 근거하여 일, 사회, 사랑이라는 세 가지 인생과제에서 협동과 기여를 구인으로 하는 새로운 사회적 관심 척도를 개발하고 이를 타당화 하는 것이다. 연구 1에서는 문헌조사, 기존척도 검토, 면접을 통해 문항을 수집한 후, 동료 및 전문가 평정을 실시하여 예비문항을 구성하였다. 연구 2에서는 성인들(N = 350)을 대상으로 자료를 수집하여 문항분석, 신뢰도 분석 및 요인분석을 통해 최종 문항선정 및 척도의 요인구조를 확인하였다. 최종적으로 사회적 협동, 사랑관계 협동, 사회적 기여, 사랑관계 기여의 4요인 총 18문항의 척도를 완성하였다. 연구 3에서는 성인들(N = 300)을 대상으로 연구 2에서 개발된 사회적 관심 척도를 바탕으로 측정모형을 설정하고 대안모형들과 적합도를 비교하였다. 측정모형과 대안모형 간 카이스퀘어 차이 검정 결과, 측정모형이 대안모형 1, 대안모형 2에 비해 더 나은 모형으로 나타났다. 개발된 사회적 관심 척도와 Crandall의 사회적 관심 척도, 정민의 사회적 관심 척도, 소속감 사회적 관심 척도와의 관계를 살펴 수렴타당도를 검증한 결과, 개발된 사회적 관심 척도와 정민의 사회적 관심 척도 및 소속감 사회적 관심 척도는 유의미한 정적 상관을 보였다. Crandall의 사회적 관심 척도와는 “사회적 기여”만유의미한 정적 상관을 보일 뿐, 나머지 세 요인은 상관이 유의미하지 않았다. 또한 개발된 사회적 관심 척도와 심리적 안녕감 및 우울과의 상관분석을 통해 공존타당도를 검증하였다. 개발된 사회적 관심의 네 요인은 심리적 안녕감과 정적 상관을 보였다. 반면, 개발된 사회적 관심의 세 요인은 우울과 부적 상관을 보였다. 그러나 “사랑관계 기여”는 통계적으로 유의미 하지 않았다. 본 연구의 시사점 및 제한점을 논의하고, 추후연구방향에 대해 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study was to develop and validate a new social interest scale based on Individual Psychology theory that was constructed two factors of cooperation and contribution within the areas of three life tasks (work, society, and love). In Study 1, preliminary questions were developed after collecting questions through reviewing the extant literature and previously developed scales, interviewing six participants, and verifying content validity with colleagues and experts. In Study 2, the final item selection and the factor structure of the scale from the data of 350 adults were confirmed through item analysis, reliability analysis, and exploratory factor analysis. As a result, the new social interest scale was composed of 4 factors with 18 items; Social Cooperation, Cooperation in Love Relationship, Social Contribution, and Contribution in Love Relationship. In Study 3, based on the social interest scale developed in Study 2 for adults, a measurement model was set up and compared the fit with the alternative models. As a result of chi-square difference tests, the measurement model showed better fits than alternative model 1 and 2. The relations between the new social interest scale and the previous social interest scales (Crandall's Social Interest Scale, Jeongmin's Social Interest Inventory, Belonging Social Interest) were examined to confirm the convergent validity. Jeongmin's Social Interest Inventory and Belonging Social Interest were positively related to the new social interest scale. However, Crandall's Social Interest Scale was positively related to only one factor (Social Contribution) of the new social interest scale. The relations between the new social interest scale and related constructs (psychological well-being, depression) were examined to confirm the concurrent validity. Psychological well-being was positively related to the new social interest scale. On the other hand, depression had a significantly negative correlation with the three factors of the new social interest scale. However, “Cooperation in Love Relationship” was not significantly related to depression. Implications and limitations of the study were discussed and further research directions were suggested.
