본고는 한자어 형태소에 대한 교육 내용을 개선하기 위하여 학생들의 한자어 형태소 인식의 경향성을 조사하였다. 그 결과 한자에 대한 지식과 한자어의 파악 정도가 한자어 형태소 인식 능력과 상관이 없음을 밝혔다. 그리고 학생들이 한문 문법이나 구조적인 분석보다는 단어의 단위로서 한자어 형태소를 인식하는 경향성을 확인하였다. 이러한 경향성은 교육 내용의 부재로 인한 것으로, 한자의 단어 형성에 대한 명확한 교육 내용이 7차 교과서부터 사라지고 혼동되게 기술되었다.

This study surveyed the student’s tendency in their recognition of Sino-Korean morphemes and this was with the purpose of improving ‘Education Contents’ on Sino-Korean morphemes. As a result, the study reveals that there is no co-relation between students’ knowledge of Chinese characters and their recognition levels of Sino-Korean and their ability to recognize Sino-Korean morphemes. In addition, this study confirms that students showed a tendency to recognize Sino-Korean morpheme as a unit of ‘word’ rather than as grammar on ‘classical Chinese’ or through a ‘structural analysis’. This tendency is due to the absence of education; after the 7th curriculum, description of Sino-Korean morphemes disappeared.
