블록체인은 안전하고 영구적인 방식으로 블록들의 체인에 당사자 간의 거래를 기록할 수 있는 분산된 원장기술이다. 블록체인 기술은 전자상거래에서 거래를 확인하고 기록하기 위해 이전에 신뢰할 수 있는 제3자로 행동하도록 요구하는 중개자를 근본적으로 제거한다. 따라서 블록체인 기술은 전자선화증권 도입시 중개자로서의 권리등록소가 뜨거운 이슈였기 때문에 선화 증권의 전자화에 있어서 오랜 기간의 난제를 해결할 수 있는 잠재력을 가지고 있다. CargoX가 개발한 Blockchain기반 선화증권은 종이 선화증권의 모든 기능을 유지하고 속도, 보안 및 투명성을 포함하여 분산된 생태계가 제공하는 이점들을 거래업자에게 제공하고 있다. 또한 CargoX는 스마트 계약, 보험 등과 같은 부가가치 기능의 추가적인 통합을 위한 기반을 제공하고 있다. 기존의 전자 선화증권에서 중앙등록기관이 요구되었지만 블록체인기술을 이용하여 구현되는 전자선화증권으로서의 블록체인 선화증권은 중앙등록기관을 요구하지 않기 때문에 기존에 시도되지 않는 혁신적인 방법을 채용하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 전자선화증권으로서 블록체인 선화증권의 도입사례를 살펴보고 블록체인 선화증권의 상업화를 강구하여 블록체인 선화증권의 광범위한 사용에 기여하는 것을 그 연구목적으로 한다.

Blockchain is a distributed ledger technology that can record transactions between parties in chains of blocks in a secure and permanent way. Blockchain technology essentially removes the intermediaries who were previously required to act as trusted third parties to verify, and record transactions in e-Commerce. Therefore, blockchain technology has the potential to solve a long standing bottleneck in the dematerialization of bills of lading as the title registry as intermediary is a hot issue in introducing electronic bill of lading. The smart bill of lading as blockchain Bill of Lading developed by CargoX preserves all the functions of paper B/L and furnishes traders with benefits offered by the decentralised ecosystem, including speed, security and transparency. And CargoX provides a base for further integration of value-added features such as smart contract and insurance, etc. The central registry was required in the existing electronic bill of lading, but the blockchain bill of lading as the electronic bill of lading, using the blockchain technology does not require the central registry for controlling of title, so the blockchain bill of lading adopts the innovative method which was not tried as before. The purpose of this paper is to contribute to the widespread usage of blockchain bill of lading by suggesting commercialization of blockchain bill of lading by examining the case of blockchain bill of lading as electronic bill of lading and the effects in using blockchain bill of lading.
