본 연구는 광주민주화운동 경험의 서사를 대상으로 문학의 정치가 시작·구성되는 과정에 대해서 살펴본다. 1980년 5월 광주는 국가폭력의 대상이 되었다. 많은 사람들이 공수부대에 의해서 폭력과 죽음을 경험했다. 광주 사람들이 폭력의 공포를 이겨내고 거리에 나와서 저항했던 이유, 개별 주체들이 하나의 정치 구성체로 전환된 공동체의식, 타인의 죽음을 대면하면서 느낄 수밖에 없었던 부끄러움, 이러한 부끄러움이 윤리의 문제로 전환되어 사람들이 이야기를 해야만 했던 이유 등에 대해서 살펴본다. 광주 사람들이 과거의 이야기를 5.18과 접속 시키면서, 이야기의 구조와 상징이 변화하기 시작했다. 이러한 변화는 5.18을 경험한 사람들이 지니고 있던 부끄러움이 윤리 문제로 전환되어 반영된 결과였고, 나아가 문학의 정치를 구성하는 과정이었다.

This study examines the process of the formation of politics of literature in the narrative of Gwangju democratization movement experience. On May 1980, Gwangju witnessed extensive violence, many people died, while several suffered injuries, due to attacks by airborne troops. This study explores how the Gwangju people overcame the fear of violence and came out on the streets resist, the community consciousness, in which individual subjects are transformed into one political constituent, the shame that they had to feel while facing the death of others, and the reason that people had to talk about this shame which turned into a matter of ethics. As the two urban legends were passed down from the past, we looked at how the structure and the symbols that are stacked can be changed and reconfigured by accessing the events of 5.18. I examine how the composition and evolution of the story changed with the events of 5.18 and how ethical issues of individuals and groups were expressed. And the ethics of the story was perceived as the place where the politics of literature began and tried to analyze it.
