본 연구는 상담성과에 미치는 상담자 요인 중 사회정의 옹호역량에 주목하고, 상담자의 사회정의 옹호역량과 상담자 발달수준, 작업동맹, 상담성과의 관계를 검증하였다. 매개효과를 검정하기 위해 경쟁모형과 연구모형을 설정하여 구조방정식 방법을 통해 분석하였으며, 모형에 포함된 잠재변인은 사회정의 옹호, 상담자 발달수준, 작업동맹, 상담성과였다. 상담성과는 상담자가 보고한 상담만족도를 평가한다. 상담자의 경력과 본 연구의 변인들 간의 차이를 검증하고자 일원변량분석(ANOVA) 및 Scheffe 사후검증을 실시하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 상담자의 경력에 따른 주요변인들의 차이는 사회정의 옹호역량을 제외한 작업동맹, 상담자 발달수준, 상담성과에서 모두 유의하게 나타났다. 둘째, 상담자의 사회정의 옹호역량은 상담성과에 직접적인 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 상담자의 사회정의 옹호역량과 상담성과에서 상담자 발달수준과 작업동맹의 매개효과가 확인되었다. 넷째, 상담자 사회정의 옹호역량은 상담자 발달수준을 거쳐 상담자 작업동맹에 간접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구의 시사점과 제한점을 논의하였고, 후속연구의 방향에 대해 제언하였다.

This study aimed to investigate the relationships among counselors’ social justice advocacy competence, counselor development level, working alliance, and counseling outcomes by focusing on social justice advocacy competence, one of the counselor’s factors affecting counseling outcomes. In order to test the mediating effect, the competition model and the research model were set up and the data were analyzed with the structural equation model. The potential variables included in the model were social justice advocacy, counselors development level, working alliance, and counseling outcomes. The counseling outcomes were evaluated by the counselor’s satisfaction for counseling itself. One way ANOVA and Scheffe post-test were conducted to verify the difference between the counselors’ career and the study variables. The results of this study were as follows. First, the differences of the major variables according to the counselor’s career were significant in working alliance, counselors development level, and counseling outcomes, except in social justice advocacy competence. Second, counselors’ social justice advocacy competence did not directly affect their counseling outcomes. Third, both counselors development level and working alliance fully mediated the effect of counselor’s social justice advocacy competence on counseling outcomes. Fourth, counselors’ social justice advocacy competence indirectly affected working alliance through counselors development level. Based on these findings, implications and limitations were discussed and future research directions were suggested.
