2018년에 발간된 한글 맞춤법 해설은 변화한 현실을 반영하여 규범을 쉽게, 자세히 설명하여 한글 맞춤법에 대한 국민들의 이해도를 높이고자 하는 의도를 담고 있다. 본 연구자는 이와 같은 한글 맞춤법 해설의 교육적 가치를 높게 평가하고, 교육적 활용을 염두에 두고 개정된 부분을 구체적으로 살피고자 하였다. 그리고 어문 규범 교육에서 가장 중요하게 고려할 것으로 규범의 속성에 대한 이해를 제안하였다. 어문 규범은 본래 사회적 합의의 결과물임에도 불구하고 언중들은 어문 규범이 무모순적이며 일관되고 직관적인, 보다 완전한 것이기를 기대한다. 이는 어문 규범의 속성을 바르게 이해하고 활용하는 데 장애가 된다. 본 연구에서는 어문 규범이 가지는 보수성, 규범성과 함께 학문적 체계성, 그리고 현실 반영을 위한 가변성, 임시성 등 규범의 속성을 이해하는 데 한글 맞춤법 해설이 교육적 가치를 지니고 있음을 보이고자 하였다.

The Hangul spelling commentary, published in 2018, reflects the changing reality and aims to improve the understanding of the Korean spelling by explaining the rules easily and in detail. This researcher highly evaluates the educational value of the Hangul spelling commentary and intends to investigate the revision part specifically with the educational use in mind. In addition, this study suggests the understanding of the attributes of norms that are most important to be considered in this educational application. Despite the fact that the linguistic norms are the outcome of social consensus, the linguists expect the linguistic norms to be non-contradictory, consistent, intuitive, and more complete. This is an obstacle to the proper understanding and utilization of the attributes of the linguistic norms. In this study, it is proposed to use Hangul spelling to understand the attributes of norms such as academic systematicity and temporality for reflecting reality.
