4차산업혁명 시대에는 희소성을 전제로 한 합리적인 선택이라는 형식경제학의 가장 기본적인 원리가 잘 작동하지 않는다. 주주자본주의는 재무제표에서 인간을 배제하며 무한한 정보와 기술 기반의 독점 기업들에 의해 자유시장 원리도 작동하지 않는다. 디지털 기술이 발전할수록 일자리 또한 빠르게 없어진다. 이것은 기술문제라기보다 비즈니스운영체제의 문제에서 비롯된다고 본다. 따라서 인간의 생존과 존엄 문제를 함께 고민하는 실체적 경제학에 대한 검토와 함께, 비즈니스 운영체제를 멱법칙의 역학으로부터 분산적인 P2P 방식으로 전환할 필요가 있다. 또한 기업에 고용되지 않아도 스스로 일자리를 만들며 공동체의 네트워크 속에서 협력하는 메이커(자유일꾼)운동이 보완이자 하나의 대안이 될 수도 있다. 이에 따라 4차산업혁명 시대에 경제 교육의 방향과 내용이 전환될 필요가 있다.

In the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the most basic principle of formal economics, ‘rational choice based on scarcity’, does not work. Shareholder capitalism excludes human beings from financial statements. Neither free market principles do work by monopoly firms based on infinite information and digital technology. Futhermore, jobs quickly disappear as digital technology develops. These can be assumed to be from a matter of the business operating system rather than technical problems. Therefore, it is necessary to examine the substantive economics which considers the question of survival and dignity of human beings, and the business operating system that can be shifted from the dynamics of the power-law to the distributed P2P system. And then, the maker(free worker) movements can be considered as one alternative to cooperate in the network of the community to make a job by oneself. In conclusion, the direction and contents of economic education need be changed in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
