This thesis examined the aesthetics of modernism revealed by Choi In-ho's representative novels A Stranger’s Room(1971) and Tower of Ants(1977). In the novel A Stranger’s Room, Choi In-ho embraced the aesthetics of modernism, hoping for an inner reconciliation by expressing the abnormal human relationship that emerged from his relationship with his wife through the spatialization and assimilation of the fantasy of time. In Tower of Ants, this work. Therefore, I sought to expand the horizon of the modern novel by studying the meaning and characteristics of the aesthetics of the modern novel through these two works.
