최근 시기적으로 관심을 받고 있는 드론과 물류산업에 대하여 문헌연구와 사례분석을 중심으로 탐색적 연구를 진행하였다. 따라서 DHL, 아마존 등 드론 물류서비스 적용을 추진하고 있는 선도 기업들의 사례를 살펴보고, 드론 관련 선행연구들을 검토하여 한국적 물류산업의 현실에서 적용 가능한 새로운 물류서비스 모델과 물류산업 발전방향을 제시한다. 그리고 이를 통해 한국의 물류산업에 아직 도입되지 않은 드론기술에 대한 전반적인 이해를 돕고, 향후 물류기업의 신서비스개발과 및 비즈니스모델 수립의 접근성을 높일 수 있는 토대를 제공하고자 하였다. 연구결과, 무인항공기(드론)와 같은 새로운 운송수단이 국내에서 운송서비스에 일반화되기는 쉽지 않겠지만, 운송서비스 제공자인 물류기업에서는 운송서비스의 효율성, 신속성, 고객만족도를 향상시키기 위해서 드론을 적용한 신개념 운송서비스 모델을 연구해야 하고, 정부에서는 드론과 관련 산업의 성장을 위해서 연구개발 투자 확대, 법·제도 정비, 산업 육성정책 수립 등에 대한 정책적 노력이 요구되고 있음을 알 수 있었다.
This is an exploratory research which comprehensively reviews the current literature and refers to several case studies for the drone and logistics industrial sector that has gained timely and considerable attention very recently. Primarily, it aims to present the new logistics service model and the development strategy of logistics Industry that may be applicable in the Korean logistics industry through examining practices and application areas currently implemented by leading enterprises such as DHL, Amazon, etc., and by reviewing previously published studies in the context of commercial use of the drone. Further, it aimed to help the overall understanding for the drone technology that not introduced in the industry; yet through this, it aimed to provide the solid foundation capable of new service development of logistics firms in the future and the establishment of business model. As a consequence of this research, we recognize that even though the new transportation means like the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is not easy to be widely adopted in the transportation service domestically, the Logistics Enterprise, as a key stakeholder which provides transportation service, should conduct a research on the new concept transportation service model using the drone for the purpose of enhancing the efficiency, the immediacy and the customer satisfaction. Finally, we would contend that Korean Government, if it intends to develop the drone and its related industrial sectors, should play an integrating role in the area of active R&D and its massive investment, its new legislation and regulations, the establishment of the policy of promoting the industry, and etc.
