목적：본고는 말과 글의 타당성과 효과성을 판단하는 비판적 이해의 교수·학습 내용을 심화하기 위해 비판의 준거를 체계화하고 각 준거의 적용 원리를 구명하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 아울러 비판적 이해의 교수 · 학습 자료로서 전기문 <과정록>의 활용 가치를 모색하고자 한다. 방법：기존에 논의되어 온 비판적 이해의 준거를 통합 및 재분류한 뒤, 각 준거의 작용 원리를 분석하고, 이를 전기문 <과정록> 읽기에 적용하여 그 타당성을 검증하였다. 결과：표현의 정확성, 논리 구성의 타당성, 내용의 효용성을 비판적 이해의 주요 준거로 설정하였으며 이상의 세 가지 준거가 각각 비교 논증, 인과 논증, 포함 논증 및 대당 논증의 방식을 통해 말이나 글의 비판적 이해에 적용됨을 밝혔다. 결론：말과 글을 비판적으로 수용하는 기준과 방법을 구체적으로 제시할 수 있었으며, 이를 흥미롭게 교수 · 학습할 수 있는 국어 교육 자료로서 <과정록>의 활용 가치를 확인할 수 있었다.

Purpose：The purpose of this study is to systemize the criteria of critical reception and specify the principles of application of the criteria. This study also aims at verifying these principles by applying them to analyze the critical discourse in Gwajeongrok(過庭錄). Methods：In order to accomplish this research purpose, existing criteria of critical reception was reviewed and rearranged by integrating similar criteria. The argumentative scheme required to apply each criterion were also deduced and verified by analyzing the critical discourse in Gwajeongrok(過庭錄). Results：Accuracy of expression, validity of logical composition, and utility of the contents were established as main criteria of critical reception. Each criterion proved to be realized by comparison argument, causal argument, classification and opposition argument respectively. Conclusion：The criteria and principles of critical reception could be systemized and specified. The value of Gwajeongrok(過庭錄) as material for teaching critical reception was also examined.
