조선 말기, 여성 시사의 등장은 여성 시가가 규중에만 국한되지 않고 남성 중심의 문단에서 시인 공동체의 일원으로 활동하면서 독립적인 문학공간을 형성하고 확보하고 있었음을 보여준다. 본고는 조선시대 유일한 여성 시사인 삼호정(三湖亭) 시사 구성원들의 작품들을 분석함으로써 이들의 자의식을 탐구하고, 시사가 결성된 사상적 기반을 밝혀내어 조선 후기 여성문학의 발전 방향을 고찰하고 하였다. 본고에서는 우선, 삼호정 시사 구성원들이 갖고 있던 규방여인으로서의 한계 의식을 분석하였다. 시인들은 작품에서 변치 않는 규방 생활에 대한 권태와 구속을 토로하고 있으며, 폐쇄적인 공간으로부터 벗어나고자 하는 바람을 표현하고 있었다. 그 다음으로, 그들 자신이 문인 계층에 속해 있다는 자각에 대해서 살펴보았다. 그들은 시인의 입장에서 글로 인생을 기록하고 감정을 표현하고 있을 뿐만 아니라, 자신들이 문인 신분에 속해 있다고 하는 명확한 자아인식을 가지고 끊임없이 자신들의 창작 활동을 성찰하고 있었다. 마지막으로, 그들이 갖고 있던 산수유락에 대한 동경을 살펴보았다. 규방을 잠시 벗어나 자연의 아름다움에 빠진 그녀들이 표현하는 소탈함과 편안함은 규방여인으로서의 심정과 뚜렷한 대비를 보여주고 있었다. 이와 같은 생활환경과 자아인지의 유사성은 그들이 시사를 결성하고 서로를 위로하는 전제가 되었다.

This paper explores the self-consciousness of the members of Samho-Pavilion Poetry Society- the only female poetry society in the Joseon period. This has been done through an analysis of their works so as to explore the ideological basis of the formation of the poetry society and to understand the development direction of the female literature in the later Joseon Dynasty. Firstly, the study analyzes their limited consciousness in the status as those confined to boudoir and bedrooms. In their works, they reveal their tiredness and restraint from their unchanging boudoir life and express their desire to escape from this closed space. Then, through constant self-analysis and tempering, they examine their own creations, showing their modesty and self-awareness as literati. Finally, those who break away from boudoir temporarily and immerse in nature show free and easy moods, showing intense contrast to their moods while in boudoir. The similarity of their environment and the common self-cognition in this environment are the preconditions for them to form a poetry society and comfort each other in the future.
