This article studies Korean literary magazines, which have been published monthly o quarterly since after Korean War to the present. We investigated 15 types of magazines published during about 60 years, to study the introduction of Jorge Luis Borges in Korea through mentioned magazines. We found about 101 articles published in deferent magazines.
The results of this article are as follows: 1) Jorge Luis Borges was first introduced in Korean magazines in 1966 with a short story called ‘Emma Zuntz’ translated by Whang Donggyu through Wolganmunhak; 2) Hyundaesihag has published most of his articles; 3) The forms of articles of him are classified with critics, poem, essay, short story, conference, interview, explanation, chronology and book review, among which the critic presents more often with 55%, but the most popular genre is poem; 4) Though most of Korean literary magazines have focused on critics, Munhaksasang and Munhakjungsin on works. According to this study we can find some special things: 1) We need to consult the critics written by Korean because their level is very high in compared with foreigner’s; 2) Some special contributors have investigated him continuously.
