지금까지 장애아동 언어지도에 관한 연구는 장애아동별 그리고 구체적인 교수적 접근을 활용한 언어지도의 효과에 대한 연구에 초점을 두고 이루어 졌다. 본 연구는 국내 장애아동 언어지도 관련 학술지를 중심으로 장애아동과 언어지도를 검색하여 19편의 논문을 최종 선정하여 분석하였다. 해당 선행 연구를 분석한 결과 실험 연구방법을 활용한 연구가 13편, 질적연구는 4편, 그리고 조사연구가 2편으로 나타났다. 연구결과를 근거로 분석한 결과는 첫째, 장애아동 언어지도 방법에 대한 연구의 활성화가 필요하다고 보았다. 둘째, 장애아동에 요구하는 언어지도 방법과 구체적인 교육프로그램이 필요함을 알 수 있었다. 장애아동의 경우 장애 영역과 언어발달 수준 등 다양한 변인들로 언어지도 방법을 일반화하기에는 제안점이 있으나 언어는 삶과 인지 등 실생활에서 매우 중요한 요소이므로 다양한 언어지도방법과 교육프로그램의 개발이 활발히 실행되어야 함을 알 수 있었다.

Studies on the language teaching of children with disabilities have focused on the study of the effects of language teaching on the basis of disability children and specific teaching approaches. In this study, 19 disability papers were selected by analyzing the disability children and language instruction in the journals related to language teaching of children with disabilities. As a result of analyzing the preceding studies, there were 13 studies using experimental research methods, 4 qualitative studies, and 2 research studies. Based on the results of the study, first, it was necessary to activate the research on the language teaching method of children with disabilities. Second, it was found that language instruction method and specific education program required for children with disabilities were needed. In the case of children with disabilities, there are proposals to generalize language teaching methods by various variables such as disability area and language development level, but language is a very important element in real life such as life and cognition, so various language teaching methods and education programs should be actively developed.
