본 연구는 상담자의 직무에 대한 이해와 필요성을 가지고 긍정심리학의 관점에서 살펴보고자 진행되었다. 자신이 하고 있는 일에서 개인적으로 충만함을 느끼게 하고 그 충만함이 확장이 되어 사회로까지 헌신하게 이끌며, 삶의 목적과 의미를 내포하고 있는 상담자의 소명의식과 직무만족에 초점을 두고, 상담자의 직무만족에 영향을 미치고 있는 변인으로 직무열의를 설정하여 각 변인들의 관계를 알아보고자 하였다. 이러한 관계들을 살펴보기 위해서 서울과 경기 및 지방을 포함하여 244명의 상담자들을 대상으로 세 변인들 간의 상관관계 분석을 통해 검증해 보았고 그 결과를 토대로 상담자의 소명의식과 직무만족간의 관계에서 직무열의의 매개효과를 구조방정식 모형을 통해 검증하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 상담자의 소명의식, 직무열의 및 직무만족 간의 관계에서는 작지만 유의미한 정적상관이 있는 것으로 검증되었다. 둘째, 세 변인들 간의 구조적인 관계로는 상담자의 소명의식과 직무만족간의 관계에 직무열의가 유의미하게 완전매개를 하고 있음이 검증되었다. 이를 바탕으로 본 연구에서 나타난 상담자의 직무와 더불어, 상담자를 위한 상담의 실제에 대하여 제언 및 한계점을 논의하였다.

This study was conducted to examine the understanding and necessity of the function of counselors from the point of view of the positive psychology. Especially this study tried to examine the relationship among the each variables setting up as work engagement that affects on job satisfaction and counselor’s calling which imply the purpose and the meaning of life and make them feel full in their work personally and expand the sense of fullness to devote themselves to society. The subjects were 244 counselors in diverse provinces including Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. The data were analyzed by Pearson correlation to test relations among three variables and by SEM to verify the mediating effects of work engagement in the relations between counselor’s calling and job satisfaction. The results are as follows. First, counselor’s calling, work engagement and job satisfaction had small but significant positive correlation each others. Second, the complete mediating effect of work engagement was shown in the relations between counselor’s calling and job satisfaction. On the base of results, implications for research and limits of this studies were discussed.
