This paper examines the stylistic, grammatical, and lexical characteristics of liquor advertising in modern newspapers by analyzing 250 ads in six newspapers published between the 1890s and the 1940s. Section 2 looks at the stylistic shifts and variations in the headlines, body texts, and advertisers, respectively. In order to reveal the grammatical features of liquor advertisements, section 3 describes the usage patterns of syntactic units, such as sentences, clauses, and phrases, and patterns of mood and addressee honorifics. Section 4 reveals that there were significant differences in the usage of the vocabulary of liquor ads for soju, beer, wine, and rice wine.
