This dissertation investigates the cause of the Eurosceptic phenomenon that is increasing in political, economic and social aspects in the EU, doubting the extension of the Eurosceptic view might affect the European integration. In the previous researches, eurosceptiscism is mainly discussed about the meaning, the deployment and the structure and characteristics of parties. For example, the analysis of party-based euroscepticism, the classification of eurosceptic attitudes and the epoch-making of extreme-right parties. This article, however, focuses on the strategic use of eroscepticism for the political parties for competing parties. The hypotheses of this study is that anti-Europe issues are utilized strategically in both of right and left parties, and the anti-Europe issues are mostly for getting legal right and vested interest of parties.
To prove this, this article tries to suggest the case study of italian political parties. In the case study, first, the identities of political parties of an object of study are correlated with eurosceptic discourse? second, through the change of party agenda, the strategic use of eurosceptic is observed? third, anti-Europe issue which is selected by these parties has essential cognition about the European integration? This work might contribute to provide deepen conception of eroscepticism phenomena which is spreading out on EU.
