On the Application of RCM for Preventive Maintenance System of Test Equipment

In this paper, RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) is used as a preventive maintenance method to propose a maintenance method for the test equipment managed in the laboratory. Test equipment managed in the laboratory, production facilities managed in the ordinary manufacturing industry, and plant facilities such as power plants have different characteristics. In the case of test equipment managed in the laboratory, the objective is basically to provide a over stress environment to the EUT. In this process, precise control of the stress environment is required, and since most of the imported equipment is used, it takes a long time to repair and reuse if a fault is found. Therefore, a preventive maintenance method suitable for the characteristics of the test equipment is needed. In this paper, we firstly prove the validity of this study through literature review of preventive maintenance and RCM. In order to apply RCM twice, RCM related standards were investigated and compared. Third, the results of this study are presented through case studies. The case study covered the HALT test equipment. We analyzed the structure and system of HALT test equipment and suggested LTA and decision roadmap. As a final conclusion, RCM based maintenance plan for each part was established.
