본 연구는 한국에서 공개된 사과문을 대상으로 화행 전략을 확인하는 데 목적을 둔다. 논의를 진행하기 위해 사과문의 특성을 살피고 기존 연구에서 제시한 사과문 전략을 재고하여, 본 연구에서 재구성한 분석 틀을 기반으로 대중에게 공개된 한국의 사과문을 분석하였다. 2장에서는 사과문의 특성을 논의하였다. 위기 상황에 따른 전략적 차이가 구성되어야 한다는 것을 기존의 논의들을 통해 확인하고, 이에 더하여 본 연구의 대상을 분석하기 위해서는 한국의 문화적 특성 즉, 책임성에 따른 체면을 고려한 접근이 이루어져야 함을 주지하였다. 3장에서는 위기 상황별 사과문 분석으로 구성하였다. 기존 연구들에서 제시한 전략들이 한국의 사과문에 적용되기에 제한적인 점이 있음을 문화적인 요소에서 확인하고, 사과문 구성 전략을 논의하기 위한 분석 틀을 재구성하여 제시하였다. 이를 기준으로 쿰즈와 홀러데이(Coombs & Holladay, 2004)가 제시한 ‘자연재해, 제품 훼손, 사고, 위반’으로 위기 상황을 유형별로 나누고, 그에 해당하는 실제 사과문을 분석하였다. 그 결과 집단이 책임성 여부를 인정하는 정도에 체면의 손해를 결정하고, 사과문의 전략 구성에서 미세한 차별성을 확인하였다. 이러한 논의는 한국의 사과문을 구성하는 화행 의미에 대하여 재고하고, 전략 구성의 유형을 확인하여 전략적으로 더 나은 사과문을 구성하기 위한 방향을 시사한다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

This study is an analysis based on the apology speech strategy used in Korea's officially disclosed statement of apology. In order to progress with this research, the characteristics of the statement of apology and the presented statement of apology from existing research was reconsidered. From this research, restructured analysis on the basis of public's apology statement was examined. Chapter 2 described the analysis of the characteristics of the statement of apology. Depending on the crisis situation, it was confirmed that the difference in strategy needed to be formed, which was an examination based on existing discussion. In addition, in order to analyze this target research, Korea's cultural aspect, that to say, considering ones’ reputation, had to be understood. Chapter 3 shows the analysis on the statement of apology by crisis situation. The strategies presented in the previous studies were identified by cultural factors as being limited in application to Korean apology, and the analysis framework was proposed by reorganizing and presenting the strategies for forming apology statements. Based on this, the crisis situation was divided by type by 'Natural Disaster, Product Damage, Accident and Violation', presented by Cumbs & Holladay(2004), and the corresponding actual apology was analyzed. As a result, the loss of face was determined to the extent that the group acknowledged its responsibilities, and the detailed differentiation in the strategic composition of the apology was confirmed. These discussions are meaningful in that they suggest a direction for strategically better apology formations by reconsidering the meaning of the good deed that constitutes Korea's apology, and identifying the type of strategic composition.
