본고는 그간 연구가 많이 이루어지지 않았던 羅鄴에 대한 연구 확대의 차원에서 晩唐의 사회 현실과 개인의 이력 사이에서 갈등했던 羅鄴의 심리에 관심을 갖고 그의 영물시 세계를 살펴보고자 하였다. 羅鄴은 『唐才子傳』 卷8, 『唐詩紀事』 卷69 등의 기록에 나온 것처럼 羅隱, 羅虬와 함께 ‘三羅’로 함께 불리었을 뿐 아니라, 方幹, 賈島와도 함께 거론되며 ‘詩虎’로도 불리어졌을 정도로 개성을 지닌 시인이다. ‘詩虎’라는 호칭이 그의 영물시 「牡丹詩」에 대한 평어에서 유래한다는 점을 고려해보면 羅鄴의 詠物詩에 대한 성취가 남다른 경지에 이르고 있다는 생각을 해보지 않을 수 없다. 이에 본고에서는 晩唐羅鄴의 시가 중 영물시를 대상으로 현실에 대한 비판과 풍자를 가한작품, 신세의 불우함을 표출한 작품, 개인의 서정을 표현한 작품 등으로 나누어 분석해 보았다. 羅鄴이 작은 규모의 자연이나 세미한 사물을 주제로 한 영물시의 창작에 공을 들였다는 것은 세밀한 사물이나 자연물을 감상하면서 관직에 오르지 못했던 서러움이나 개인의 비애감, 시국과 연계된 한계의식 등을 잠시나마 잊고 심신의 평안을 도모하였거나 사회의 부조리를 풍자하고 자신의 의식을 표출하기 위한 창작을 감행했다는 것으로도 이해할 수 있는 것이다. 羅鄴의 영물시는 晩唐문단에서 한 축을 담당하며 시가의 예술성을 높여나간 羅鄴의 문학적 성취를 생각해 볼 때 우선적으로 주목되어야 할 부분이라 할 수 있겠다.

This article was written to study on the aspects of Luo-Ye(羅鄴)’s yongwu poem(詠物詩). Luo-Ye(羅鄴) is one of the poets of Late Tang Dynasty. There are a few articles on Luo-Ye(羅鄴)’s poems by now, but still need study about his entire poems more deeply. To enlarge the research of Luo-Ye(羅鄴)’s poems, I have noticed his yongwu poem(詠物詩). The aspects of Luo-Ye(羅鄴)’s yongwu poem(詠物詩) can be summarized as that : The first, Luo-Ye(羅鄴)’s yongwu poem(詠物詩) basically contained the sense of satire about social aspect of Late Tang Dynasty. In this kind of poem, he expressed his feelings of satire and ridicule, and this satire and ridicule expression in his poem made a strong impression. There’s a pathos in his poems which he never lets slide into sentimentality. The second, Luo-Ye(羅鄴)’s yongwu poem(詠物詩) have expressed rich emotion about personal sufferings that he have during his whole life. He have the intense aspirations enter be in government service but he did not realized he´s wishes. The feelings of sorrow always governed his creature mind. The thirds, the large part of Luo-Ye(羅鄴)’s yongwu poem(詠物詩) expressed his pure attention of feeling by using forthright vocabulary and expression. The forthright vocabulary can provide truthful and emotional spray, so he can pursued more clear and fresh style in large part of his yongwu poem(詠物詩).
