학교 교육공동체의 협력적 참여로 민주적인 학교문화를 조성하고, 역량중심 교육을 위한 수업 혁신으로 창의적인 교육을 실현하는 공교육 혁신의 모델 학교를 만들고자 전라남도 교육청에서는 2011년부터 혁신학교를 운영하고 있다. ‘무지개학교’라는 이름으로 시작한 전라남도 혁신학교는 2019년부터 ‘전남혁신학교’라는 명칭을 사용하며, 혁신학교(교육지구)의 질적 도약을 통한 학교혁신 문화 확산을 도모하고 있다. 전라남도에서 ‘전남혁신학교’라는 새로운 이름 아래 질적 성장을 꾀하고 있는 현재, 학교 운영 전반에 대해 파악할 수 있는 교육과정 분석을 통해 혁신학교가 어떻게 운영되고 있는지 살펴보는 것은 매우 중요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 전남 도내 초등 혁신학교 중 운영성과가 뛰어나 울림학교로 지정된 5개교를 선정하여 교육과정을 분석해 전남 혁신학교가 본래 취지대로 잘 운영되고 있는지를 알아보고, 앞으로의 혁신학교 정책에 시사점을 주고자 하였다. 이 연구를 위해 교육과정과 관련한 선행연구 분석을 통해 교육과정의 각 구성 요소를 추출하고, 선행연구 및 국가 교육과정과 전라남도 교육청 혁신학교 중점 추진 과제를 참고하여 분석 준거를 설정하였다. 그리고 이러한 분석 준거에 따라 교육과정의 구성 요소 별로 각 학교 교육과정을 분석하였다. 이 연구는 혁신학교 교육과정 문서만을 대상으로 한 연구로 실제 교육과정 운영에 대한 내용은 제시하지 못했다. 그러나 혁신학교 교육과정 속에서 혁신학교가 가지고 있는 다양한 특징 및 문제점을 찾아냄으로써, 앞으로의 학교 교육과정을 개발하는데 참고가 될 수 있는 자료로 사용될 수 있다는 데에서 의의가 있는 연구이다. 본 연구와 관련지어 혁신학교 교육과정 운영에 대한 후속 연구가 진행된다면 앞으로의 혁신학교 발전에 더욱 많은 시사점을 제공할 수 있을 것이다.

In order to create a democratic school culture with the cooperative participation of the school's education community, and to create a model school for public education innovation that enables creative education by innovating classes for capacity-based education, the South Jeolla Province Office of Education has been operating innovative schools since 2011. Starting with the name ‘Mujigae School’, Jeollanam-do Innovation School uses the name ‘innovation school’ from 2019 and is seeking to spread the school innovation culture by taking a leap in the quality of innovation schools. It is very important to look at how innovation schools operate through an analysis of the curriculum that provides insight into the overall operation of schools, as "innovation schools" in Jeollanam-do are seeking qualitative growth. Therefore, in this study, we selected five elementary innovation schools designated as Woolim schools in Jeonnam Province and operated them for more than eight years to find out if Jeonnam Innovation School has been operating as intended for the past nine years and to give implications to future innovation school policies. For this study, each component of the curriculum was extracted by analyzing prior research related to the curriculum, and the analysis criteria were established by referring to the prior study and the national curriculum and the task of promoting innovation schools in the South Jeolla Province Office of Education. In accordance with these criteria, each school's curriculum was analyzed for each component of the curriculum. The study was conducted solely on educational curriculum documents of innovation schools and failed to provide information on actual curriculum operation. However, the research is meaningful in that it can be used as a reference in developing future school curricula by identifying the various features and problems that innovative schools have in their curriculum. In relation to this study, further research on the operation of the Innovation School curriculum could provide more implications for the development of the Innovation School in the future.
