본 연구는 상대방에 대한 존경어로서 일상회화장면에서 빈번히 사용되고 있음에도 불구하고 일본어교육현장에서 큰 주목을 받지 못하였던 ‘お동사연용형だ’를 다루고 있다. 이러한 형식이 필수학습항목으로 인정받지 못하였던 배경에는 동사적 특징을 갖는 명사문에 대한 교육 및 학습의 어려움, 그리고 그간의 경어교육의 주안점이 お～になる와 같은 존경어나 お～する와 같은 겸양어 등에 지나치게 경도되었다는 사실을 들지 않을 수 없다. 이에 본 연구에서는 본 형식의 경어표현으로서의 위상을 새롭게 고찰하고자 기존교재와 참고서에 대한 분석을 토대로 효율적인 교육이 이루어지기 위한 이론적 배경을 제공함을 목표로 하였다. 더불어 간결함과 경제성으로 대표되는 본 형식에 대한 적극적인 교육과 학습의 필요성을 주장하였다.

This study considers the honorific expression of “verb conjunctive form” among the honorific expressions in Japanese, and proposes its application to honorific education. There is no room for objection to being an honorific expression that is frequently used in actual conversational situations as an honorific that enhances the partner. Nevertheless, it is hard to say that such honorific expressions have been taken up in earnest as essential learning items in the field of Japanese language education. The cause is probably the morphological and semantic characteristics of the honorific expression and the main focus of traditional honorific education. Therefore, in this study, we will analyze the structural features and grammatical behaviors in detail in order to clarify the position of “verb conjunctive form” as honorifics from the viewpoint of Japanese language education. In addition, we aim to provide the results obtained through this research as basic materials for learners to efficiently learn this topic.
