This study explores how dormitories, which had been treated as spaces of control and management and spaces of regulation, were spaces between homes and society. How did the opening of spaces outside family and marriage change the lives of women? How did the space of the dormitory open up women’s mobility? Through the phenomenon of “study abroad” we examined the effect of women staying away from home in the macroscopic flow of movement in the space outside the house. It was confirmed that the emergence of girls in their daily lives in the school reorganized their sense of time and space, thereby enabling a new imagination of women’s mobility. Thus, we studied the impact of modern education and school life on the gendered position of women in society.
