대학 글쓰기 교수자들은 대학을 학술적 담론 공동체로 정의내리는 데 익숙하다. 그리고 이와 같은 정의를 토대로 학술적인 글을 주요한 교육 장르를 선택하는 관행이 만들어진다. 그런데 학술적인 글은 저자가 새로운 발상을 토대로 자신의 의견을 적극적으로 제시해 나가는 것이 중요하지만, 실제 학생 저자들은 창안하기보다는 모방하며 글을 쓰고 있는 것이 현실이다. 모방은 전통적으로 형식주의 쓰기 이론의 가장 큰 한계로 지적되지만, 학생들이 학술적 담론공동체의 권위에 휘둘릴 때에도 이 태도는 유지된다. 따라서 학습자들이 저자성을 살리면서 능동적으로 글을 쓸 수 있는 방법을 개발하는 것이 중요하다. 이 글에서는 맥락 읽어내며 인용하기와 설문조사 활용하기를 저자성(authority)을 살릴 수 있는 교수-학습법으로 제안한다. 전자는 기존 자료를 다루는 전략에, 후자는 새로운 자료를 만들어 내는 전략에 해당한다. 둘 다 학습자들이 학문 수행 능력을 신장시키면서 자신의 저자성을 확보할 수 있는 방안이다. 또한 실제 수업에서만이 아닌 대학 글쓰기 교재에도 적극적으로 반영될 수 있도록 설계된 교수-학습 방법론이기도 하다.

College writing professors are used to defining colleges as academic discourse communities, and based on these definitions, the practice of selecting major educational genres for academic essays has been created. The academic essay is a reality that the author has to actively present his opinions based on new ideas, but the actual student authors are writing and copying rather than creating them. While imitation is traditionally pointed out as the biggest limit to formalist writing theory, this attitude is maintained even when students are swayed by the authority of the academic discourse community. Therefore, it is important to develop a method for learners to actively write while saving their authority. This paper proposes the method of teaching-learning that can save the authority by reading context, citing and using survey. This is a strategy to deal with existing data and to create new data, which is a way for learners to secure their own authority while enhancing their academic performance ability. This is also a teaching-learning methodology designed to be actively reflected in college writing textbooks as well as in actual classes.
