『박통사신석언해』(1765)는 『박통사대신석』(1765)을 언해한 중국어 교재로서, 표면적으로 보아서는 일반적인 언해서의 국한혼용체처럼 표기되어 있다. 그러나 이 언해서에서 한자로 표기된 한자어는, 『박통사신석』의 한어 문장에서 언해문에 그대로 가져와 사용한 중국어 한자어들이다. 말하자면 『박통사신석언해』에서 한자로 표기된 한자어는 한어 문장을 구성하는 중국어 단어들로서, 한어문장을 공부하기 위해 먼저 습득해야 할 학습 내용인 것이다. 그러므로 『박통사신석언해』의 한자는 한어 문장을 익히는 데에 필요한 중국어 단어임을 표시하는 지표이며, 한자 표기는 한어 문장을 학습하기 위해 먼저습득해야 할 학습 내용을 표시하는 메타 기능을 수행한다. 그리고 한자로 표기된 언해문의 한자어는 한어 문장에 사용된 중국어 단어이므로, 『박통사신석언해』의 언해문은 중국어 교육을 위해 우리말 문장에 의도적으로 중국어 단어를 섞어 사용한 중간언어적 특징을 보여준다고 할 수 있다.

In this study, I investigated the frequency of Sino-Korean Words and the frequency which they were written in Chinese characters, divided in three parts of the text of volume 1 in Pagtongsa Sinseog Eonhae,. As a result, frequency of Sino-Korean Words was 518 times in the 1^st part, 377 times in the 2^nd part, and 307 times in the 3^rd part which reveals that the frequency of the use of Sino-Korean Words were decreasing. Furthermore, frequency of Sino- Korean Words which were written in Chinese characters were decreasing. The characteristics of the text of Pagtongsa Sinseog Eonhae was that the Sino-Korean Words were derived from Chinese Words used in Pagtongsa Sinseog. So, the Sino-Korean Words written in Chinese characters in Pagtongsa Sinseog Eonhae, there are many Sino-Korean Words that were the same as in Chinese Words used in Pagtongsa Sinseog ; most of them were not used in Korean. This fact reveal that the compilers of this book designed to intend first to learn Chinese words from the latter in order to learn Chinese sentences. In other words, it can be understood as a result of the Chinese textbook compilation reflecting the teaching method to allow even the learners who do not know Chinese sentences to study Chinese vocabularies as the constituent elements of the Chinese sentence. Therefore, it is necessary to understand that Chinese characters in this book were used to indicate the educational contents and method of the Chinese vocabulary composing Chinese sentences in Chinese textbook, Pagtongsa Sinseog.
