본 연구의 목적은 2015 개정 교육과정에 따른 매체 언어 교과서를 분석한 후 그 결과를 토대로 개선 방안을 제안하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 먼저 문헌 고찰을 통해 매체 텍스트의 이해와 생산의 두 가지 측면에서 분석 틀을 설정하였다. 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 먼저 매체 텍스트 이해와 관련하여 첫째, 매체 언어 교과서는 매체 텍스트 생산자의 이해관계 등을 고려하며 매체 텍스트를 이해하도록 하지는 못하였다. 둘째, 매체 텍스트 생산자의 의도와 관련지어 왜 특정한 언어 양식이 활용되었는지를 사고하도록 하는 내용이 제시되어 있지 않았다. 셋째, 매체 텍스트의 관점을 파악하는 내용이 공정성의 위배나 왜곡의 문제를 사고하도록 하는 수준으로 이어지지 못하였다. 넷째, 시청각적 요소에서 드러나는 심미적 가치를 이해하도록 하는 방안을 제시하지 못하였다. 다음으로 매체 텍스트 생산과 관련하여, 첫째, 매체가 정해져 있는 상태로 학습활동 과제가 부여되어 매체 선정의 절차를 거칠 필요가 없게 되어 있었다. 둘째, 스토리보드 작성이 필수적인 절차로 제시되어 있지 않았다. 셋째, 촬영 준비 절차가 마련되어 있지 않았으며, 넷째, 촬영과 편집을 위한 전략이 교육 내용으로 제시되어 있지 않았다. 다섯째, 온라인 공유 과정을 통한 성찰 기회를 제공하고 있지 못하였다. 이상의 연구 결과를 바탕으로 매체 언어 교과서 개발을 위한 개선 방안을 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the media language textbooks according to the 2015 revised curriculum and to suggest improvement plans based on the results. For this purpose, the analysis framework was established through the literature review. The analysis framework for media text understanding is composed of four perspectives of production, language, representation, and audience. In addition, the analysis framework for the production of media text is composed of seven perspectives of planning, storyboard-writing, filming preparation, filming, editing, presentation, and online sharing. Based on the above analysis framework, the results were presented as to how media language textbooks appeared in terms of media text understanding and production. Finally, based on the above research results, the suggestions for the development of media language textbooks were suggested.
