본고는 장서각 소장 조선 후기의 중국어 학습서인 『니니귀성』의 정확한 필사 연대를 밝히고 자료적 가치를 검토하는 데 일차적 목적이 있었다. 나아가 『니니귀성』에 나타난 이인칭 대명사 ‘你呢’의 음운, 의미적 특징을 살펴보는 데 또 다른 목적이 있었다. 먼저 『니니귀성』의 필사 시기는 『학청』과의 관계와 본문의 내용 등을 고려하여 1906년으로 추정하였다. 이 자료는 사역원 간행의 중국어 학습서와 같이 조선인 상인과 중국인 상인의 대화 형식이라는 특징이 있지만 개인이 필사한 자료라는 점에서 자료적 특징이 있다. 즉, 개인에 의해 필사된 학습서이기는 하지만, 19세기 말 20세기 초반의 중국어의 구어적 현상을 있는 그대로 충실히 반영하였다는 데 의의가 있다. 한편, 현대 중국어에서 ‘您'는 본래 [+복수]의 의미를 가지고 있다가 [+높임]의 의미 자질을 갖는 변화를 겪었다. 이러한 과정에 대한 논의를 본 자료의 등장인물들에 대한 구체적인 분석을 통하여 논의하였다. 즉, 이인칭 대명사 ‘你呢’가 의미적으로는 ‘존대’를 나타내고, 음운론적으로는 [nin] 음을 나타냄을 논의하였다. 그리고 현대 중국어의 존대 대명사 ‘您’의 최종 형성 전의 모태가 바로 ‘你呢’이고, 당시 구어에는 ‘您’의 음인 [nin]이 이미 존재하였음을 살펴보았다. 현대 중국어에서 ‘您’의 기원에 대해서는 논란이 많고 아직까지 정설이 없는데 이 논의를 통해 ‘您’의 기원 연구에 기존의 학설과는 다른 새로운 실마리를 제공하였다는 데 의의가 있다.

This paper clarifies publication year of NiNiGwiSeong(你呢貴姓), a Chinese languange study book, in the late Chosun dynasty and reviews its textual values, thereby discussing phonological and semantic features of the 2nd personal pronounce “Ni ne(你呢)” in NiNiGwiSeong(你呢貴姓). Although the book was compiled by a single person, it is a very valuable document to study the linguistic phenomenon of modern and contemporary transitions in that it faithfully reflects the spoken phenomenon of Chinese in the late 19th century and early 20th century. In this paper, the publication year was assumed to be 1996 and “Ni ne(你呢)” appeared in this literature is a semantically honorific expression and phonologically has “Nin (您)” sound by analyzing the characters in the literature. This paper found that the premature of the honorific personal pronounce of “Nin(您)” in the contemporary Chinese is “Ni ne(你呢)” and the word “Nin(您)” was already existed in the spoken language at that time. The origins of “Nin(您)” in contemporary Chinese have not yet come to consensus by the Chinese academia. The discussion in this paper is expected to contribute to the study of the origins of “Nin(您)”.
