이 글은 <대구일보>와 『도정월보』에 게재된 김윤식의 글을 통해 그의 저항세계를 고찰하는 것이 목적이다. 그는 가난으로 굶주리는 농촌에서 무지한 농민들과 직접 어울려 농사짓고 살면서 농촌문제의 근원에 정면으로 도전한다. 그 대표적인 저항의 언어는 황무지 개간과 농촌실태의 용기있는 고발에서 잘 드러난다. 정부정책의 부재나 문제로부터 농촌문제가 발생한다는 것을 체험하고 개인의 힘으로 극복하는 도전을 시도한다. 황무지 개간이라는 도전은 무모하게 읽히지만 그 무모함이야말로 저항정신의 증거이다. <대구일보>에 게재된 글에서는 농부가 되어 황무지를 개간하며 농촌생활을 시작하던 이야기가 중심을 이룬다. 황무지 개간은 허황되고 무모하게 읽힐 수 있으나 그는 가난극복과 무지를 해결하기 위해서 자립해야 한다는 신념을 직접 행동으로 옮긴다. 개간에 성공했으나 태풍과 화재로 농지를 잃어버리고 다시 원점에 선다. 정책부재의 정부뿐만 아니라 자연재해 앞에서도 굴복하지 않고 참고 견뎌내면서 잃어버린 농토회복을 위해 헌신하는 삶을 산다. 『도정월보』를 통해 고발한 농촌의 실상은 총체적인 문제점을 안고 있었다. 정부의 근본적인 농촌무시 정책을 기반으로 공무원, 정치인들이 그 뒤를 이었다. 농촌 일선의 공무원들의 보신주의와 관료주의의 행태는 매우 노골적이고 일상화되어 있었다. 부패한 정치인들은 4·19의 열매를 자신들의 권력유지를 위해 악용하였다. 농촌문학인으로서의 사명감을 절실하게 느낀 김윤식은 직설의 언어로 저항의지를 강하게 드러낸다.
