본 연구는 성인 발달장애인에 대한 부모의 돌봄 부담을 지원하기 위한 사회적 지원이 부족한 상태에서, 성인 발달장애인의 건강상태와 도전적 행동 요인이 부모의 돌봄 부담에 미치는 영향을 살펴봄으로써 이에 대한 지원방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 울산에 거주하는 성인 발달장애인 대상으로 설문조사를 하여 485사례를 분석하였고, SPSS프로그램을 활용하여 위계적 다중회귀분석 방법을 활용하였다. 분석결과, 성인 발달장애인의 건강상태가 심각할수록 부모의 돌봄 부담에 정(+)적인 영향을 미치고, 또한 도전적 행동도 심각할수록 부모의 돌봄 부담에 정(+)적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 장애인복지 관점에서, 부모의 돌봄 부담을 낮추기 위한 발달장애인의 건강 증진과 도전적 행동을 감소시키기 위하여 정책적, 실천적 함의를 제시하였다.

In the absence of social support to support parental care for adult developmental disabilities, we sought to investigate the health status of adult developmental disabilities and propose supportive measures against the burden of parental care. For this purpose, 485 cases were analyzed by surveying adults with developmental disabilities living in Ulsan, and hierarchical multiple regression analysis method was used using SPSS program. The findings indicate that the more serious the health condition of adult developmental disabilities, the higher the parental care burden, and the more challenging behavior, the greater the parental care burden. Thus, in terms of the welfare of persons with disabilities, policies and practical impacts have been proposed to reduce the burden of caring for parents by promoting the health condition of people with disabilities and reducing the challenging behaviors of people with developmental disabilities.
