The study of double object construction has long been addressed in the field of generative grammar. In this paper, several previous analyses of Chinese double object construction and their problems were examined (section 2), and then new ways to solve these problems were sought (section 3). In particular, in section 3, the syntactic structure of Chinese double object construction was re-analyzed using the light verb phrase and the applicative phrase. According to this, the double object construction in Mandarin Chinese is derived based on the structure of [_vP Subject [_v CAUSE [_vApplP Indirect Object [_vAppl BECOME/給_{[RECEIVE/AFFECTED]} [_VP ...Direct Object...]]]]].
