『어록해』는 17세기 유학자들이 『주자어류』를 읽고 이해하도록 하고자 1657년에 정양이 편찬하여 간행한 어휘집이다. 『어록해』에 대한 초기 연구 이후 후속 연구가 부족한 실정이며 서지와 표기법, 음운 현상에 국한되어 있다. 이에 『어록해』에 반영된 어휘 의미에 대한 연구가 필요하다고 판단하였다. 『어록해』 개간본은 원간본을 수정하여 간행한 것이라고 널리 알려져 있지만, 원간본의 뜻풀이 가운데 어떤 것을 수정하였는지는 밝혀지지 않았고 수정한 뜻풀이의 타당성에 대한 분석도 이루어지지 않았다. 이 글은 『어록해』 개간본에서 표제어 ‘都來’, ‘外間’, ‘頭邊’, ‘了然’, ‘了了’ 등의 수정된 뜻풀이를 중심으로 하여 『어록해』 개간본의 뜻풀이 제시 양상을 살펴보고자 한다.

“Eorokhae” is a collection of vocabulary compiled and published by Jeongyang in 1657 by Confucian scholars in the 17th century to read and understand “Juja fish”. The study of “Eorokhae” was not conducted much in Japan and China, and Korean studies were limited to bibliography, notation, and phonological phenomena, and there was little research on the meaning of the vocabulary reflected in “Eorokhae”. Although it is widely believed that the first edition of “Aurokhae” was revised and published, it did not say which of the first drafts was revised, nor did it say whether such a revised version was reasonable. This article focuses on the revised meaning of the title control “都來”, “外間”, “頭邊”, “了然” and “了了” in the opening book of “Aurokhae”.
