본고에서는 소비에 초점을 둔 유하 시를 확장적으로 감상하기 위한 방법의 일환으로 보드리야르의 소비이론에 주목하고자 하였다. 유하는 다양한 시편들을 통해 현대사회에 만연한 소비문화를 비판하고자 하였으나, 그의 시를 서구 지향적 소비문화에 대한 추종이나 자본을 절대시하는 천박한 속물주의라는 주제적 굴레에 한정해 감상하는 것의 한계를 벗어나기 위해 보드리야르의 철학적 관점을 적용해 보고자 하였다. 현대사회의 소비는 물리적 상품의 소비를 통해 물질적 풍요와 향락을 누리고자 하는 자본지향적 욕망의 추종성만으로 이해되지는 않는다. 보드리야르의 견해를 유하의 시에 대입하게 되면 상품소비는 자본 권력에 의해 조장되는 계층적 차이화의 고착화를 위한 이미지의 소비에 이미 자리를 넘겨준 지 오래이다. 현대인은 현실을 모방한 이미지 기호의 소비로 인해 현실의 소멸이라는 내파에 구속된 채 상상적 이미지인 초과실재에만 과도하게 몰입하는 처지로 전락해 버리고 말았다고 하겠다.
현실보다 더 현실같은 초과실재에 대한 현대인의 지향성은 인간 존재의 현실적 실존을 사라지게 만들었으며, 현대인에게 남은 것은 ‘시뮬라크르’라는 이미지뿐이라 할 수 있다. 이러한 현상은 상품의 소비뿐만 아니라 성과폭력에 대한 인간의 몰두 역시 이와 유사한 맥락에서 이해 가능하게 한다. 현실과 무관한 이미지의 변형과 과잉 생산은, 성과 폭력을 사회 문화적 현실속에서 인간의 본성이 발현되고 절제되어 가는 과정과는 무관하게 조작된 이미지로 소비하게 함으로써 대상의 본질과 무관한 기의의 소멸을 초래했다고 할 수 있다. 이처럼 유하의 시와 보드리야르의 철학적 인식을 겹쳐놓음으로써 ‘소비’에 대한 인식의 폭을 확장해 나갈 수 있으며, 학생들로 하여금 작품 감상의 상상력이 다양한 가치 인식을 기반으로 다양화될 수 있음을 체험하게 하는 기회가 될 것으로 본다.
When Baudrillard’s view has been substituted into Yoo Ha’s poems, it can been seen that commodity consumption has long given way the consumption of images for the fixation of the hierarchical differentiation promoted by capital power. It is said that modern people have fallen to the position to be excessively immersed in only hyper-realities, which are imaginary images, while being confined to the implosion of the extinction of realities due to consumption of the image signs imitating realities. Modern people’s orientation toward hyper-realities, which are more realistic than realities, made the actual existence of human beings disappear, and the only thing left to modern people can be said to be the images termed ‘Simulacre’. This phenomenon makes it possible to understand the human immersion in not only the consumption of commodities but also sex and violence in a similar context. The transformation and overproduction of images that are irrelevant to realities can be said to have led to the extinction of the signified irrelevant to the essence of objects by causing sex and violence to be consumed as manipulated images independent of the process through which human nature is expressed and controlled in social and cultural realities. As such, the breadth of the perception of ‘consumption’ can be expanded by overlapping Yoo Ha’s poems and the philosophical perception of Adorno, and this is regarded to provide opportunities for students to experience the fact that their imagination for appreciation of works can be diversified based on the perception of diverse values.
