This thesis intends to improve Korean learners’ vocabulary competence through variable vocabulary learning activities and exercises of Korean vocabulary materials using Learning Strategies. Oxford(1990) noted that Learning Strategies are steps which language learners have used to improve their learning skills. Oxford(1990) classified vocabulary learning strategies into six categories. The affects that are expected in using this materials are as follows: First, provide learning guide and vocabulary learning strategies to teachers and learners. Second, help Korean learners to discover and acquire affective vocabulary learning strategies through variable vocabulary learning activities and exercises. Third, help to make Korean vocabulary long-termed memorization and them more active in their usage of language. Fourth, finally improve communicative competence of Korean language focused on not only vocabulary but also four language skills. (Hankuk University of Foreign Studies)
