The Relationship of Studies in Korean Grammar and Korean Grammar Education for Foreigners

The purpose of this study is to define the academic relationship of studies in Korean grammar and Korean grammar education for foreigners, and suggest a virtuous-cycle research direction for both. In the main body, in order to discuss the relevance of Korean grammar and Korean grammar education, the discussion is unfolded in the following order. In chapter 2, the process of deriving educational grammar from academic grammar, and it is shown that the areas of Korean grammar and Korean grammar education can interact with each other. In chapter 3, the research subject is analyzed with focus on research materials of Korean grammar education. Through this analysis, it is shown that there have been researches in Korean grammar education that are highly relevant to Korean grammar research, and the trend of researches for each subject is explored. Furthermore, in order to suggest a virtuous-cycle research direction for both academic areas, in chapter 4, how Korean grammar studies positively influences which areas of Korean grammar education is observed. In chapter 5, based on the critical mind of Korean grammar education questioning Korean grammar studies, the direction in which both academic areas can interactively develop is suggested.
