≪Xiandai Hanyu Cidian≫ is a dictionary published in China having great popularity with scholars. It describes that “Wuyi” is a verb. Many other dictionaries in China for example ≪Xuesheng Xiandai Hanyu Cidian≫, ≪Dangdai Hanyu Cidian≫, ≪Xiandai Hanyu Guifan Cidian≫ have a the similar understanding to ≪Xiandai Hanyu Cidian≫ on the problem of “Wuyi”.
My opinion is quite different from them. According to my research, “Wuyi” is often contrasted used with adjectives in many sentences. This means that “Wuyi” is an adjective.
Adjectives and adverbs can't take objects, but “Wuyi” sometimes has the ability to take objects. This means “Wuyi” also has the characteristics of a transitive verb.
Consequently, I argue that “Wuyi” has three word classifications such as adjective, adverb, and transitive verb.
