본 연구는 코로나19로 인한 비대면 한국어 수업을 경험한 외국인 학부생을 대상으로 이들의 실시간 온라인 수업 경험을 심층적으로 탐색하는 데에 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 7명의 외국인 학부생을 대상으로 총 세 번의 포커스 그룹 인터뷰(FGI)를 실시하였다. 이들은 실시간 온라인 수업 방식이 처음에는 어색하고 불편했지만 곧 적응하였고, 조별 발표를 준비하면서 많은 어려움을 겪었지만 이 과정을 통해서 자신들의 한국어 말하기 능력이 향상되었다고 응답하였다. 또한 활발한 상호작용과 즉각적인 피드백이 가능한 점을 실시간 온라인 수업의 장점으로 꼽았다. 이들은 한국어 읽기나 쓰기 등의 수업은 동영상 수업을, 토론이나 발표 등의 수업에서는 실시간 온라인 수업을 선호하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 앞으로 외국인 학부생을 위한 비대면 수업을 설계하는 데에 기초자료로서의 의의를 가진다.

The purpose of this study is to explore in depth the real-time online class experience of foreign undergraduate students who have experienced non-face-to-face classes due to COVID 19. To this end, 3 sessions of focus group interview (FGI) in total were conducted to 7 foreign undergraduate students. They responded that the real-time online teaching method was awkward and uncomfortable at first, but soon adapted, and that they had a lot of difficulties preparing for the group presentation, but this process improved their speaking skills in Korean. In addition, they commented the availability of active interaction with colleagues and professors and the immediate feedback as the advantages of real-time online classes. They preferred video lectures for classes such as reading and writing in Korean, and online classes for discussions and presentations in real-time. The results of this study will help design non-face-to-face classes for foreign undergraduates in the future.
