Historical Kana orthography was first presented by Keichū. Later, Kogentei, written by Nahiko Katori, hit the headlines and historical Kana orthography became mainstream among kokugaku scholars. After that, Kana orthography note, which adopted historical Kana orthography, was published continuously, but there is not much research on it. This paper took note of this point and examined Kana orthography note, which published after Kogentei. Also, since research dealing with Kana orthography note generally deals only with native Japanese words in the material, this paper investigated the Sino-Japanese vocabulary in the material and considered the features that appear in each of the materials.
First of all, as a result of organizing Kana orthography note after Kogentei, it was confirmed that Kana orthography note in dictionary form was actively published from the period of Bunka (1804-1818). In order to investigate the Sino-Japanese vocabulary in the Kana orthography note, 16 materials published after Kogentei were selected, investigated and analyzed, and 10 of them showed that the Sino-Japanese vocabulary were included. Especially after Bunka period, the data showed a change, nad the characteristics of the Sino-Japanese vocabulary in each material were as follows.
1) The number of the Sino-Japanese vocabulary has increased, and some materials have data with Japanese pronunciation of a kanji.
2) the proportion of the Sino-Japanese vocabulary overlapped with Waji Shōranshō and Waji Shōran Yōryaku has decreased. This means that the authors of the Kana orthography note have come to refer to materials other than the two when producing the book.
3) some Sino-Japanese vocabulary have changed Kana orthography. This seems to be the effect of Jion Kanazukai wriiten by Norinaga Motōri.
