연구목적: 본 연구는 ‘2018 평창 동계올림픽대회’ 경기전문인력으로 참여한 운영요원의 참여동기를 탐색하고 그 의미를 규명하는데 목적이 있다. 연구방법: 본 연구에서는 질적연구 방법을 적용하였다. 연구 참여자 총 9명을 의도적표집법으로 선정하였다. 심층면담을 통해 자료를 수집하고 얻은 내용을 1차적으로 기록하고 분석하였으며, 2차적으로 주요 주제들이나 현상들을 중심으로 구분하여 범주화 작업을 진행하였다. 본 연구의 신뢰도와 타당도를 높이기 위하여 자료 수집 및 분석이 완료된 후에 동료 간 검증을 진행하였으며, 연구 참여자들에게 수집 및 분석 자료에 대하여 연구대상자 검토를 실시하였다. 결론: 본 연구의 주요 연구결과, 첫째, 올림픽 운영요원의 참여동기로 올림픽 관련 동기가 나타났다. 하위 항목으로 4가지의 동기가 나타났으며, 하위 항목은 올림픽과의 인연, 올림픽 이벤트 참여 목적, 올림픽의 명성, 평생의 추억이 있었다. 둘째, 올림픽 운영요원의 참여동기로 이기적 동기가 나타났다. 하위 항목으로 2가지의 유의미한 동기가 나타났으며, 취업을 위한 업무 경험 및 경력, 새로운 기술의 습득이 나타났다. 셋째, 올림픽 운영요원의 참여동기로 대의적 동기가 나타났으나, 하위 항목으로 국가적 행사에 나라를 위한 마음의 1가지 유의미한 동기가 나타났다.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to explore the motivation for the participation of operating personnel who participated as experts in the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics and to clarify its meaning. Methods: In this study, qualitative research methods were applied. A total of nine participants in the study were selected by the purposeful sampling. Through in-depth interviews, the data collected and obtained were recorded and analyzed in the first phase, and the categorization work was carried out in the second phase, focusing on the main topics or phenomena. In order to enhance the reliability and validity of this research, peer-to-peer verification was conducted after the data collection and analysis was completed, and the research participants were reviewed for the collection and analysis data. Conclusions: The main research result of this study, first, Olympic-related motivation was shown as motivation for participation of Olympic operating personnel. There were four motives as a sub-item, and the sub-item had ties to the Olympics, the purpose of participating in the Olympic event, the reputation of the Olympics, and lifelong memories. Second, selfish motives emerged as motivation for Olympic management personnel to participate. There were two significant motivations as a sub-item, work experience and experience for employment, and acquisition of new skills. Third, representative motivation was shown as motivation for the participation of the Olympic operating personnel, but one significant motivation for the nation was shown in the national event as a sub-topic.
