연구목적: 본 연구의 목적은 인명구조요원으로써 자원봉사 활동을 하고 있는 이들을 대상으로 인명구조 자원봉사 활동의 과정과 경험은 어떠한지에 대해 심층적으로 살펴보는데 있다. 연구방법: 현재 활동하고 있는 인명구조 자원봉사자들을 대상으로 문화기술지 연구방법을 사용하였으며, 연구 참여자를 선정하는 데 있어서 ‘목적 표집’을 사용하였으며, 목적 표집의 기술 중 하나로서 전형적 사례선택을 사용하여 연구참여자 10명을 선정하였고, 심층면담을 통해서 자료를 수집하였다. 이를 통해 얻어진 결론은 다음과 같다. 결론: 인명구조요원의 자원봉사 참여과정과 경험은 어떠한가에 대해 살펴본 결과, 첫째, 인명구조 자원봉사자들은 ‘인명구조 자원봉사 활동에 대한 탐색’, 둘째, ‘인명구조요원으로의 도전’, 셋째, ‘자원봉사 활동과정에서의 난관극복’, 넷째, ‘자원봉사활동을 지속하기 위한 노력’을 경험하는 것으로 나타났다.
Pupose: The purpose of this study is to take an in-depth look at the process and experience of lifesaving volunteer activities and the values and meanings of volunteer activities for those who are volunteering as lifesaving personnel. Methods: To this end, ethnography research was used for lifesaving volunteers. In selecting the study participants, 'objective sampling' was used. As one of the techniques for objective sampling, 10 study participants were selected using typical case selection and data were collected through in-depth interviews. The results obtained are as follows. Conclusion: As a result of examining the lifesaving personnel's volunteer participation process and experience, first, lifesaving volunteers experienced difficulties in obtaining information about lifesaving personnel, starting with 'exploring lifesaving volunteer activities'. This was a problem arising from structural difficulties in the course of lifesaving education, and changes in lifesaving education were discussed. The second is ‘challenge as lifesaving personnel’, in which the challenge was swimming skills and to serve the community according to the challenge. Third, even if there is difficulty in ‘overcoming difficulties in volunteer activities’, they were actively participating in volunteer activities due to the satisfaction of the support. Among them, it was found that many efforts were made to overcome a spouse's worries or opposition. Fourth, efforts to continue volunteer activities included physical fitness to overcome physical aging and efforts to manage fears of accidents and nature.
