목적: 이 연구는 메타언어적 인지 작용을 퍼스의 기호작용에 기반하여 필자의 메타언어적 인지 작용을 설명하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 쓰기에서 메타언어적 인지는 ‘텍스트에 대한 반성과 조작 작용’을 말한다. 방법: 텍스트에 대한 반성과 조작의 구체적인 작용 방식은 기호 작용의 역동성을 강조한 퍼스의 기호학을 이론적 기반으로 하여 규명할 수 있다. 소쉬르와 달리 퍼스는 기호를 지시 작용이자 추론 작용으로 보았다. 또한 추상성과 관습성을 통해 재현되는 두 겹의 일반성을 상정함에 따라 언어 의미에 진화론적 가치를 부여한다. 이에 비추어 본고는 텍스트 반성을 일종의 추론 작용으로, 텍스트 조작을 기표의 전이로 설명한다. 결과: 필자는 반성 작용을 통해 텍스트의 직접적 해석체를 파악하고 역동적 해석체를 추론한다. 그리고 조작 작용을 통해 최종적 해석체를 고려하거나 역동적 대상을 탐구한다. 결론: 메타언어적인지의 개념을 쓰기 교육의 장으로 수용함으로써 쓰기의 언어적 측면과 심리적 측면에 통합적으로 접근하고, 독자를 고려하고 담화 관습을 준수하는 구체적인 방법을 도출할 수 있다. 또한 작문의 회귀성 개념을 확장하고 필자의 능동성을 부각할 수 있다.

Purpose: This study aims to explain the metalinguistic cognition of the author based on Perth’s semiotic action. Methods: ‘Metalinguistic cognition’ is ‘reflection and manipulation of text’. Perth’s semiotics, emphasizing the dynamics of sign action, can be defined as a theoretical basis for the concrete way of action of reflection and manipulation on text. Unlike Saussure, Perth viewed signs as both a directing and reasoning. In addition, it gives evolutionary value to language meaning by assuming two layers of generality that are reproduced through abstraction and convention. In light of this, this paper explains text reflection as a kind of reasoning, and text manipulation as a transfer of signifiers. Results: The author grasps the direct interpretation of the text through reflection and infers the dynamic interpretation. Besides, the final interpretation is considered or a dynamic object is explored through manipulation. Conclusion: By accepting the concept of meta- linguistic cognition as a place for writing education, it is possible to integratively approach the linguistic and psychological aspects of writing, consider the reader, and derive a specific method to observe the discourse convention.
