On the technical aspect, convergence is a result of a digital technology innovation. From the aspect of creating knowledge and experience, convergence could be seen as a research methodology of post-modern. Such cognizance is in accordance with the futuristic and ecologic forecasts. Therefore, the Korean language education needs to put efforts to evolve into a convergence education, and the new epistemology on the Korean language education. The texts of the Korean language education will evolve with such a speed with the digital technology. The multi modal media text would take a great importance in the Korean language education. Such texts have a strong characteristic of convergence. Texts with a characteristic of convergence means a qualitative evolution of texts. That is, high consideration on the characteristics of convergence should be made in the aspects of text contents, form and application. Of course, such changes dissolve the previous thoughts on the congested contents of the Korean language education. Therefore, more flexible approach is required for the ``contents and application`` of the Korean language education. That is, an effort to see the contents of the Korean education from ``academic system`` to ``practical phenomenon``. To extend the convergence function of the Korean language education, more educational interactions between the Korean language education and other subjects are required. Therefore, a strategy to allow the Korean language education to have ``boundary flexibility`` with other areas is necessary. Moreover, not only handling the Korean language education from the school system, but also its interest should be extended to the outside of school, this is because to prepare for the potential consumption of the Korean language education outside schools. The Korean language education outside school is done is a method of emphasizing on the experientiality. The Korean language education based on experience has very close relationship with the daily life, so convergence thinking and practice are required to strengthen the position of the Korean language education. To satisfy such, the study methods to study the Korean language education should be more diverse and pursue the convergence between study methods.

It is recognized that the grammar education is a subject needing memorizing that teachers unilaterally pass the grammar knowledge to learners. And at least this is true in actual school class fields. In order to overcome practical issues, this study suggests the necessity of a teaching method that draw the learners placed in a passive position to an active position. And it pays attention to teacher`s ``questioning`` as an effective teaching method. Since the configuration of the teacher`s questioning can make a significant impact on leaner`s direction of thoughts, teacher`s and leaner`s attitudes and the position of a leaner in the class. Thus, considering both previous studies on teacher`s questioning and the diversity of learner`s thoughts, this study suggests some possible types of questioning that can be configured in grammar teaching & learning. First of all, it divides the characteristics of grammar teaching & learning into two different aspects: the explanatory and the inquiry. And it proposes ``information retrospective questioning``, ``understanding questioning``, and ``adaptive questioning`` types for the explanatory aspect, ``exploratory questioning``, ``deductive questioning`` and ``verifying questioning`` types for the inquiry aspect. Moreover, the study shows concrete practices of each questioning types anticipating such discussions can more actively take place in the actual grammar teaching and learning field.

This paper aims to bring light on the structure and implication of ``turning over a new leaf`` process of antagonists in Korean classical novels. Though redemption of antagonists in classical novels is represented as a device to enhance morality of novel texts, the concrete process of redemption is more complicated and realistic. The antagonists of Chanhseongamuirok, Hajinyangmunrok, Okrumong and Wanwolhoimangyeo are impressed by the strong impact of protagonists` moral authority rather than touched by their morality itself. The antagonists realize that they need to develop new capability focused on morality by experiencing the impact of moral authority of protagonists. It makes the antagonists to see new areas to go through to strengthen themselves, leading to expansion of perspective on self and others, which means ``turning a new leaf`` of their lives.

< Songbuin-Jeon > is the work that concludes the former popular folks tales like women suffering story, royal secret investigator`s story, the hero narrations. The writer combined the old-fashioned story form of the former ages with this work, besides he created the new type of work that changes the contents using of planned storytelling technique. Therefore this work can be treated as the small-time one, or regarded as the new type of work depending on the focal point. The researcher supports the latter opinion. The reason is that this work reveals the freshness and directivity for the new ages. The researcher presented a few examples of grounds that < Songbuin-Jeon > combines the various stories and creates the freshness. First, it has dealt with not men and women`s love and marriage life story but the women sufferings story unlike the common old novels. Secondly, it not only dealt with the women`s suffering but also included the realistic story that the novel`s main characters; the brother and sister went through an ordeal coming from the relatives` greed. Thirdly, it did not make a thing of the discord of wife and concubine as the other family novels. Instead of it, the main story is that people seeking worldly desires and love did harm the story`s heroine. The writer embodied the living life of the brother and sister b eing weakened because of the harsh reality. Also, the writer juxtaposed this story with the familiar one like royal secret investigator story or hero narration in order to solve their ordeal and we can find out the blossoming value fitting new ages in the story. It is the good example that Wanghanchoon did not accept the supporter of Sokyongpae, Hojang`s daughter as his concubine and he did not lead to ascent of status deriving from the marriage. As a result, this work respects the previous collective values and shows new idea that emphasizes on the autonomy and personal values. < Songbuin-Jeon > is the output of being planned thoroughly by the writer because of the contents and characteristics.

The purpose of this thesis lies in examining premodern novels, in particular classic Korean novels, and thereby exploring their linguistic-cultural status. Such inspection also forms a part of researching the cultural history of classical novels. Despite the fact that classic Korean novels made their appearance after those written in classical Chinese characters, they have matured over time, bolstering their identity in the process. Notwithstanding their stronger popular nature in relation to novels written in Chinese characters, classic Korean novels have developed and preserved their distinctiveness, established their genre centrality, and were published in overwhelming quantities. Classic Korean novels, which grew to become a principal axis in literature, played a critical role from the aspects of linguistic and artistic life history. First of all, linguistically, classic Korean novels have enormously contributed to the increase in the people`s ability to read and write. This is due to the fact that reading and transcribing classical Korean were mostly realized through classic Korean novels. After the 18th century, especially, a classic Korean novel boom expanded its reading population to new grounds and remarkably increased Hangul literacy. Secondly, classic Korean novels provided the experience of reading and transcribing them as works of art. Subsequently, they also granted a creative experience thanks to the lack of copyright that allowed people to freely produce altered versions, or even go as far as inventing entirely new works. Furthermore, the use of classical Korean centered around these novels enlarged the language`s artistic attribute and contributed to the development of classical Korean prose.

This study aims at explore possibility of using paratext for novel interpretation education. In order to achieve this purpose, this study considered concept and category of paratext following theory of Genette(1987). As taking a theoretical approach, paratext is embodied in ``thresholds of interpretation``. It is significant that paratext is utilized for reason of interpretation in novel interpretation education. Following foregoing discussion, this study examined applications of paratext and exemplified each of the points making with a < A autobiography that isn`t written >. To sum up, paratext is effective in ``set up a direction of realization of meaning``, ``organization a context of meaning`` and ``communication with realized meaning``. In novel interpretation education, these possibilities of using paratext emphasize ``learning-reader as an interpreter`` activeness and growth potential.

The term "prose poem" has been used in a classroom without consideration as literary knowledge. This paper raises this issue and reviews the phenomenon critically. First of all, from its fountainhead to the context and development process of the term "prose poem" will be examined. The "prose poem" forms a genre that is hard to have its own properties because this type of poem is invented by deviation from the fixed form of verse. Therefore its properties, such as rhythm and poetic characteristics, are very controversial and hard to characterized. The terminology is still used in a field, but the definition and its properties are not clarified. Because of this issue, the most typical characteristic of "prose poem", which is less rhythmical than the fixed verse, is the only topic discussed in a class. However, less rhythmical could be taught with "prose", it is difficult to be considered as prose poem`s own learning content. Terminology or knowledge taught in a class should be applied to understand different ideas by students. Thus, in this paper, "prose poem" is concerned and debated to find a way to be properly used in a class as an educational knowledge through reviewing the term critically.

Substantial progress has been made to describe the cognitive and social processes involved in digital literacy practices. However, few studies have examined non-cognitive factors that may significantly affect students` engagement in digital literacy practices. This article describes a research project for developing and validating a self-report instrument to assess children`s digital literacy attitudes as emotional and behavioral tendencies that influence and intervene their engaged (or disengaged) digital literacy practices. Informed by research in digital literacy and motivation for learning, we considered five factors that may account for multiple dimensions of the construct of digital literacy attitudes. These included (a) value (e.g., task, medium), (b) self-efficacy (e.g., ability, success), (c) emotion (e.g., feeling, preference), (d) participation (e.g., engagement, interaction), and (e) self-regulation (e.g., control, reflection). The digital literacy attitude assessment instrument was created, built upon the five-factor model, and multiple sets of items were revised and updated through pre-validation procedures including cognitive interviews and expert surveys. Finally, with the data collected from 1,609 third- and sixth-grade students in Korea, the result of confirmatory factor analyses indicated substantial internal consistency among 33 items in the final version of instrument designed to assess these five factors. Based upon the results, we discuss critical issues in conceptualizing and assessing children`s attitudes toward digital literacy practices and how the study`s results contribute to research and practice at a crucial time in schools where cognitive-only curricular and assessments are pervasive.

Many writers, in their writing processes, naturally confront writing blocks, and which has been a firm area for a research since 1950s. However, in South Korea, there was not enough academic interest on this psychological phenomenon. To promote both academic research and educators` instructional interest in writing block, this study synthesized major findings and various issues related with writing block. Specifically, this study focused on three major synthesis works. First, various academic terms confused with writing block were reviewed and the definition of writing block was articulated. Second, major causes and instructional treatment to alleviate the difficulties of writing block were reviewed and discussed. Third, six major categories and specific examples for research were newly organized based on the various dimensions, factors, and types in the academic field of writing block. In addition, some research ideas and implications for further research were suggested for both writing researchers and educators.
