This study discussed the values and contributions of the Korean old stories in the elementary school. The values and contributions are not limited to Korean language and culture education but throughout elementary education. Young students has an incredible curiosity about all things around. They ask ‘why’ frequently. But unfortunately, it is difficult for parents or teachers to explain or answer the questions that they can understand, because of their lack of the knowledge and concepts. However, we should provide an proper answer what they ask. Korean old stories, especially lots of myth and legend is a kind of metaphorical story or explanation about our natural or human world. So young student can learn our natural or human world easily through the old stories, even though metaphorically. Metaphorical recognition is important as the previous stage of the factual or scientific recognition. This study sought to bring to light these educational significance of Korean old stories. Furthermore, we proposed an approach to Korean old stories as educational contents and cultual code in elementary school.

National curriculum of literature education has emphasized knowledge as means to perform literature activity. That is, literature knowledge could be a guide to enjoy literature and to participate in literary community. But knowledge about literature in curriculum or textbooks is not enough to promote meaningful literature activity. Knowledge in curriculum and textbooks mostly present analytic information or ethical propaganda rather than suggest a guide to enjoy literature so as to participate in literary community in practice. Because it is lack of ‘objectifiability of statement,’ ‘leaner’s life-long connectibility` and ‘performance promotibility’. Thus this article explores activities advanced poetry-readers show in their critics to suggest a tractive knowledge for literature activity: literature is what we read and evaluate. This actualization of knowledge shows what leaners could do or should do in their practice of literature activities.

Language-relevant contents such as movies, dramas, poems, and novels which have the greatest influence on Hallyu are translated in accordance with each county`s language and accommodated. Translation is a difficult work because you need to comprehend every thing such as culture, history, life, politic, etc of the country where the original work was published. Lee Hyo-seok`s ‘When Buckwheat Flowers Blossom` is consistently included in textbooks and taught to students because of its description of picturesque background and great literary historical value. However, we are so indifferent to whether this short story is translated properly and how it is accommodated by foreign readers. In this article, I found out that the words used by translators can change characters` personalities and overall atmosphere of the work drastically.

This study aims to review acceptance of unreliable narrators in novel education critically from a cognitive narratological perspective. To achieve this, this paper examines a cognitive narratological turn in narrative theory related a unreliable narrator and analyzes aspects of acceptance in mirror of curricular documents, textbooks, teachers guidebooks from the 7th national curriculum period that fist introduced ‘Dongbaekkkot’ as a novel of unreliable narrator to 2011 revised national curriculum period. As a result, contexts and cognitive frames related acceptance of unreliable narrators are revealed. Aspects of acceptance are analyzed in dimensions of real-world frames and literary frames. What this paper does quite clearly is that, first, korean language education has accepted unreliable narrators based on rhetorical approaches and personified narrators, second, has highlighted ignorance of ‘I’ in real-world frames of ‘an innocent boy’ and ‘pure love’ and third, has covered up possibility and necessity of ethical judgement related to reliability of narrator in literary frames of ‘one way communication’ and ‘aesthetic rhetoric’. Lastly, improvement plans are briefly suggested on introduction of judgement on reliability of narrator and discovery of various frames in interpretation traditions. This plan will take concrete shape in a follow-up study.

This study investigates how the aspects and effects of each group`s peer feedback could be different through an union of the peer feedback group members by level in a college writing class. For this, college 60 freshmen was classified as homogeneous group in writing level and heterogeneous group. The main result was like the following. First, the heterogeneous group activity was more effective than homogeneous group`s in almost area. Second, a writer who relatively has the lower level of writing in the heterogeneous group was able to get a tutoring from peers who have the higher level of writing. But, in the contrast, a writer who has the higher level of writing tended to correct writing based on the problem detection provided from peers who have low level of writing. Therefore, this study shows that heterogeneous group should be composed to have an effective peer feedback in the college writing. And also we can consider to perform heterogeneous group activity in stages to improve its limit and consider peer feedback workshop with increasing the number of group members including at least two writers who have the higher level of writing.

The aim of this study is that we propose the necessity of the text development for the foreign students in universities and graduate schools and present the specific plans for developing literature texts. According to educational statistics by 2015, the number of foreign students exceeds 91,332 and among them, the students who attend in universities and graduate schools are 55,739. They are studying Korean literature for an academic purpose, therefore, they need the literature texts which let them be able to appreciate Korean literature itself, not which are for communication methods. Studying these texts provide an easy access to Korean and Korean culture. However, we do not have the enough published texts which are appropriate for this purpose. Thus, the instructors excerpt some parts from the published texts and edit them in education fields. Therefore, the following two points will be considered carefully in this study. The first is the literary periodization of Korean literature and the second is the plan for the text selection according to the decided periodization. The teaching about periodization will help students understand and evaluate literary works in overall literary phenomena. Moreover, this will lead instructors and students to select the important literature in the literary field and let them focus on literature itself. The aforementioned considerations will provide a background for developing the literature texts which are appropriate for appreciating literature itself, and which are going beyond the texts of communication methods.
