From a critical perspective of the fact that the concept of `places of predicates` is used only limitedly for subdividing predicates into `one place, two place, and three place predicates` in the part where grammar education explains `predicate` among other sentential constituents, the purpose of this study is to explore a measure for make successive extension of the concept to related grammatical concepts related to syntactic structures to restructure it in a way that one can promote language users` understanding of grammar. For this purpose, Section 2 takes a general linguistic approach to the `concept of places of predicates` with the concepts of `arguments` and `valency`. Section 3 takes a Korean linguistic approach to the `concept of places of predicates` in terms of `arguments,` `places of predicates,` `intransitive, transitive, and ergative verbs,` and `sentence patterns.` Section 4 analyzes the methods of presenting grammar education contents related to the concept of `places of predicates` in subsections for `places of predicates` and `intransitive and transitive verbs.` Furthermore, this paper presents a measure for restructuring grammar education contents related to the concept of `places of predicates` by dividing them into levels of basic concepts and deepened concepts on the basis of syntactic structures.

The purpose of this study is to suggest the instructional design for learning the rules of Korean orthography efficiently and effectively. For this purpose, I apply Algo-Heuristic Theory that appropriates for teaching the thinking process of understanding the complex knowledge. As a result, The course for which the rules of Korean orthography applies was represented. It is to select valid write type. and Instructional-Design method this representation applies was suggested. To verify applicability and effectualness about this method, I applied this method in class on the rules of Korean orthography for university students. Consequently, this instructional-design is make student select a valid write type of the word that is concerned the rules of Korean orthography that is not presented during the class. This shows that “Instructional-Design of principles of the rules of Korean orthography Based on Algo-Heuristic Theory” can be an effective teaching method in it is impossible situation to teach all of the rules of Korean orthography directly.

This study aims to investigate the contents of the Writing to Learn education in 2015 Language Arts curriculum and to explore alternative ways to overcome those problems. Conceptualizing “Writing to Learn” is on the basis of the social voice to meet the need of changing secondary school writing class as well as the theoretical issues and discussions about First-Year Composition(FYC) in college. Based on the theoretical backgrounds of Writing from Sources such as Multiple text comprehension, Discourse synthesis, Argument, and Rhetorical reading, this study purposed the educational contents for Writing to Learn as follows: ⒜ Cognitive response to multiple text, ⒝ Reconstructing information, ⒞ Argument as a social communication skill, ⒟ Critical understanding and rational decision making based on the writer`s own rhetorical perspective.

The purpose of this study was to investigate concept and educational possibility of Levinas` philosophy of the others and to establish the direction of Korean language education in the unification era. It has been prepared Korean Language education in the unification era aiming for overcome difference and recovering homogeneity till now. But unification is not event that occur at once but series of process. In this perspective, we should keep focused on current `differences`, not `homogeneity`. In this regard, Levinas` philosophy of the others is thing we need to look at. For Levinas, `other` is characterized by separated from subject that is not unified with, and has infinity in itself. Subject could establish identity and freedom by lend an ear to other and takes `responsibility` that respond to other. So, we should provide students with experience that embody other`s alterity by language through Korean education. The way of deal with other called North Korea is realized by means of the way of deal with reading, writing, speaking and listening in Korean education.

EBS 연계 교재의 특성과 개선 방안

In this paper, we discuss the characteristics and problems, improvement of linked textbooks in conjunction EBS policies. EBS textbooks are also linked with a comprehensive set of reference books gifts. It can be regarded as very practical teaching material that can efficiently teach and learn in a short period of time. If not to a direct contact with SAT, EBS linked textbooks may in itself be of high quality textbooks referred to. EBS currently associated textbooks can be said to choose between concept learning-centered approach and attack the problem type approach. Based on the properties of the EBS linked textbooks, more ways to improve the linked EBS textbooks as follows. First, we must think complements rather than substitutes. Second, we need to reset the connection method of the SAT. Third, we must retain the quality of textbooks to contain various language materials. Fourth, we increase the quality of the text questions. In conclusion it is, if we make a connection more than 50% in conjunction with the indirect ways, we will be able to maintain a policy linked EBS without a large friction with public education.

Korean American made a effort on Korean language education by founding student training school and korean language school under the Korean National Association`s direction from the beginning of the migration. Furthermore, they published Korean textbook for three times-Kookmindokbon(1909), Ch`odung kungmin toksup(1922), and Korean Textbook(1939). In this article, compositional aspect of Ch`odung kungmin toksup, which is the elementary Korean textbook in Japanese colonial era, will be analysed. In the analysis, `feature of unit structure` and `feature of contents` of Ch`odung kungmin toksup has been explored. There are the result of analysis. First, the first volume is for 2~3-year-old child, and can be used at home. The book is written mainly by Korean language with simple illustrations and Chinese alphabets. The second volume includes Korean geology, history, great men in history, famous scenery, and historical remains. The third volume handles more intensified contents on the basis of prior volumes, and contains the contents about foreign history, geology, great men in history, and nature together. Therefore, every volume of Ch`odung kungmin toksup was written for each process to be suitable for level of each child.

Multimedia materials may not be an essential element in the foreign language learning. However, they can play the excellent roles as auxiliary textbooks or supportive teaching materials for the native Korean teachers teaching abroad with many strong points; motivation for learners, offering authenticity, activating input and schema, inducement of positive inclination toward learning process and so on. This study discusses the usefulness of multimedia materials as auxiliary textbooks based on the cases of < Audio Visual Korean >1 and 2 of Peking University Korean department from 2011 to 2013 and < Korean Intensive Reading > of Shanghai International Studies University Korean department in 2015. In the study, multimedia materials are categorized into the elementary 1 level and the elementary 2 level materials according to Korean competence level of target learners. Visual and audio materials, animated children songs are categorized as of elementary 1 level, whereas K-pop songs, drama, advertisements, materials about poems are categorized as of elementary 2 level. Practical teaching plans with application of multimedia materials are suggested as well for the use in other Korean classes.

한국어교육을 위한 `은/는`의 특성 재고찰

The purpose of this article is to remove the misunderstanding and confusion in discussions previously conducted by precisely and transparently disclosing the essence and characteristics of `은/는` in Korean language education. The core contents are as follows. First, a review of topic characteristics including aboutness, sense of initial position in a sentence, and definiteness shows that it is inadequate to view `은/는` as the only topic markers. Second, the validity of a theoretical viewpoint that relatively defines topics and focus as pragmatic roles from a viewpoint of relational givenness is not proven. Third, a simple explanation that states `은/는` as indicating topic `이/가` and indicating subject does not contribute whatsoever in resolving the issue. Fourth, approaching `은/는` from a viewpoint of expressive theory by accommodating the premise of Mi-hyoung Kim(2011) reveals that `은/는` is used when selecting predicates in a situation where the subject is fixed depending on the speaker`s awareness of reality, and the selected part is focused on as new important information. Furthermore, the semantic function is referred to as the results of the premise realized in the sentence.

홍콩 광동어 화자의 한국어 단모음 지각 연구

This study reports the results of three experiments on Korean simple vowel perception in order to examine the effect of similarity in second language sound perception. A total of 72 native Cantonese college students who learned Korean as a foreign language in Hong Kong participated in three experiments designed according to the frame of the Perceptual Assimilation Model (PAM). The results of Experiment 1 indicate how Korean and Cantonese simple vowels are mapped in initial learning stage. The findings of Experiment 2 verify the validity of the PAM in Korean-Cantonese language pairs, suggesting that two similar sounds are difficult to distinguish. Experiment 3 was a longitudinal study to support the PAM with empirical data. Suggestions for teaching methods are provided to enhance Cantonese speakers` perception of Korean simple vowels.
